My Gateways to Annihilation just got annihilated

I'm sooooooooo dumb.  The otherday I took Gateways and Massive Attacks' Mezzanine in the car to listen to, had both in one case.  And when I got back home I must of put them in my hoodie kangaro pocket and thrown that hoodie in the laundry pile without remebering.

My dad showed me the mess last night.  Oh the horror.  Mezzanine still works, Gateways broke, and Mezzanine's bocklit is just a solid mass of un-openable lameness.

This isn't my first offense either.  I once took SYL's City booklet to a concert to get signed by Gene or one of those idols of mine.  Got Jed and Byron both to carve out their John Handcocks, and then put it in the side cargo pocket of my pant leg.  When I got home, somewhere along the line, it got washed and when I remembered, it was just a little white clump of nothing.

I'd meant to post something very similar a few weeks ago, when I dropped Yob's Catharsis into the laundry basket, meaning to hang out in the car and listen while the at the laundromat.  As is all too typical for me, I forgot this plan immediately.  

One load of whites later, the booklet had completely distintegrated, and nearly all the ink had leached out of the tray card, leaving only an abstract nebula of colored paper flecks against white.  CD and jewelcase were fine...and to my even greater relief, so was the load of whites, as my wife certainly doesn't need any more proof of my seemingly limitless capacity to be a doof (cf. leaving checkbook overnight on roof of car parked on street; cf. sustaining concussion in front endo on bike and riding 4-5 miles home before thinking to call someone).
