I've had a crappy rip of something called the "Blue CD-R" by them for a while, and it's pretty ridiculously rad. Do they have/will they have an actual release soon I can get?

I checked this out the other day, and it was pretty toe-tappingly alright. I gotta hear them in better quality than myspace, though.

Seems my bro sent me an e-mail about 'em like a month ago.

seen them play by accident twice in the past month. not sure i like them, but they are going to get big fast, and they have their act together, and they live with longstreth [of the dirty projectors]. i'd call the genre, live at least, "boarding-school rock." i haven't heard bishop allen ever though. live they sound more like the oxford collapse or the walkmen or bands you like than the fake paul simon/talking heads/african-music keyboards on all the mp3s except oxford comma.

I'm really digging! I would have heard about them for awhile without LPTJ.

So Vampire Weekend covered "Exit Music (for a Film)" on that stereogum comp (the same one with Vanderslice doing "Karma Police"). It's so, so awesome.

i've got a record by these guys, just a single... think it's on yellow wax. so it gets here and i'm bouncing around the house all excited and go to put it on only to find that my little record player must have croaked in the night because it won't go (and hasn't gone for like, a year now?) i still haven't heard it! the band has an album coming out here right away though, preorder at amazon.com now.

I'm looking forward to it. I have the CD-R, so I know it's going to be good - I tried to not listen to it too much, though, so I wouldn't be sick of the songs by the time I could hear them in higher fidelity.
Also, they are totally fun live. They're like a band, only kids! Srsly, though, they're worth the hype or whatever.

Hey it is pretty awesome.
ellaguru it sounds almost identical to the CD-R
there's one more song, and the vocals sound a little more polished in places, and there's a little more violin, but that's about it

Oh, wait. No "Boston."
And two new songs. Both of which are *great*.

I figured it would be, since the live versions are so similar to the CD-R versions. Still looking forward to having a copy I can touch.

Hey, this is in the Last Plane forum. Does this mean they were mentioned on the main page? Or am I not understanding the point of this section?

Band names can only suck when they're new anyway, then all everyone sees is a string of letters that means people. I think it's a pretty good name, for what it's worth.

I'm in favor of the "Vampire" part, but am unsure as to the "Weekend" part.
Doesn't matter tho because I listened to that CD-R more than any proper album last year and I just pretend that everything people say about The National is actually about Vampire Weekend.
