from what i've heard, this album is much more focused on being brutal and heavy than their previous work, which was more like being shot with a grindcore machine gun. this one's more like a steamroller. i love it so far, but i've only heard it all the way through once.

This one feels more "metal" to me, if that makes sense.  It feels like soundwise they've branched out a bit and grabbed hold of things that really just push them over the edge, so that they are now solidly the most brutal band in the entire universe.

it'll be my introduction to the band, for better or worse.

this is all true.  i would get Prowler In The Yard before anything else personally, but you can't really go wrong.

i kinda hate the sticker on the cover, because now you have to choose between having a huge terrible marketing bullshit sticker on the case (for fans of black dhalia murders!!!!!!) or not having the logo on the cover.

Fuck nah. The album rules, there's not much else to say. It still can't fuck with prowler in the Yard, though. At this point I'll put it on before Terrifyer.
