OT. I'm moving the FUCK out of this town in December.  Everything here just makes me so ANGRY.  I'm taking the next window-washer-in-the-mountains job I can get, no matter how awfully shady it seems.

Seriously guys, I find myself laying in bed or on the couch for at least an hour and a half every day just thinking the word "Fuck..." over and over....

Right now, I'm sitting in my house listening to NPR and drinking coffee and eating a croissant. And I really like it. It's great typical Sunday morning for me.

What's annoying me is that instead of spending the rest of the day doing the same, I've got to go to school and participate in a fucking boat race in a cold, stinking lake.

I've noted that many of your posts are about your job.  Is this a permanent sort of job, and are you crappy hours a permanent sort of thing?  Are you getting paid enough that it is worth it to stick around for awhile and make some bank?  Otherwise maybe you should just start throwing resumes and whatnot up on the web.

it is a very permanent careerish kind of job.  and the crappy hours are par for the course for architects, especially in NYC.  and I don't think there's any way I could leave gracefully at this point...  I think I need to figure out how to make it better somehow (not sure how) which is why I keep complaining about it.  and I haven't been there that long.  maybe it'll get better?

Maybe!  Just don't let it turn you into a sad and lonesome lady.  Unhappiness shouldn't be justified by a "good" job, right?

Maybe you should start erm architecting bldg.s that are shaped like donuts or are made of a system of fifteen central free-standing porcelain pillars to blow off some steam.  Find a pissed off engineer to foist yr stupid ideas onto--get into a heated love/hate relationship with him, culminating in the both of you winning some sort of prestigious award for co-designing a donut-shaped skyscraper for poor people.

On topic, I am annoyed because overnight I succumbed to the hot-weather-cold-weather sore throat thing and my tonsils and glands have been swollen all day. I am pretty confident in my ability to be fine by Wednesday and it's probably happening at the best possible time all things considered, but it's still very lame.

I do have a fun extra-curricular project I'm working on, and I'm trying to keep up my writing, and I want to enter another competition when I have time, but not having time to work on these is making me extra annoyed/sad.  I'm begining to feel like I should get a dumb 9-5 job and save all my brainpower for my own time, like I used ta.

After sleeping for two hours and forty-five minutes, I was then awake from 2:45am (roused by some combination of my irksome bladder and a mocking text message from my brother) until 6:30am this morning. I fell back asleep, but only briefly, and now the underparts of my eyes are gray. Someone is going to say they misread that as "underpants." My eyes call them "panties," thank you.

In that sleep-deprived interval I applied to some job at Borders, I think, and probably wrote a nasty text message back to my brother, although maybe not, and also began applying to some program -- I'm not sure which one -- at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I hate the Internet.

Oh, and the upstairs person likes to leave his window open and his tiny dog yapping out of it, and our new downstairs neighbor decided to celebrate her arrival but inviting a billion of her friends over and collecting on the stoop with beer and cigarettes. I have no claim on that stoop, I know, even if she is in the garden apartment, but man did I not like weaving my way through them last night, grocery bags in hand.
