It was kind of strange, too, because the waiter seemed taken aback when I ordered it and everyone that was sitting near our table craned their necks and like made some little comment about it. In a seafood restaurant, no less! Like they'd never seen someone systematically dismantle and feast upon an arthropod before.

Landlocked fools!

I could really go for a lobster roll right now.

So I got the bright idea to put a yogurt cup into my usual morning protein shake and ooooooooh boy was that a good idea.

Yeah, that sounds good. I, on the other hand, got caught up in the moment and broke twelve years of abstaining from non-seafood meat last night in Thai Town when I tried three bites of my brother's order of wild boar. It was a bit underwhelming: chewy, rubbery even, and despite some fiery spices nowhere near as good as a veggie burger. I would try veggie-boar-meat though, I guess, since I'm all about the soy chicken, fish, and shrimp.

Oh man, I had some really great boar a couple weeks back, at this Peruvian restaurant.

And I just remembered that I forgot to put away the Chinese food I didn't eat last night.  Which means that right now, there's a plate of Chinese food sitting on top of my computer at home.

That's alright though, it's probably still warm. I'd eat it.

You say that like it's gonna make a difference to whether or not you eat it.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that; I'm most definitely planning on eating it when I return home this evening.  Its days are numbered!

I just fell off the no-dairy wagon in a major way. There's some big gourmet market in a local piazza this week so I stopped off to sample. This dude offered me some cheese that tasted just like cheddar and I was so happy that I bought some, even though he was probably offended when I told him that it tasted like English cheese - fuck it, Italians can't do strong cheese well. YES, I said it!

And then this lady offered me some chocolate chutney, which was strange, and some chocolate chilli liquor which contains milk and is pretty much the best thing ever. It is how chocolate tastes in my dreams and it's got booze in it. I am probably going back tomorrow to get about three more bottles of this stuff.

Also got some 'all fruit' pumpkin preserve and giant olives from Sicily so I am in my happy place right now.

I think it's time for a new thread, and this seems like a worthy thread closer, neatly summarising the fruit discussion that took place a couple of pages ago:
