Liliput and Kleenex are basically the same, less threats of legal action, aren't they?

Try early 80s NZ band Marie & The Atom too, like you'll ever have a chance... but they're amazing anyway.

Oh man, I just looked again and realised you got a whole bunch of 20-year-post-punk bands, so you can probably find hundreds now, I thought you meant original period ones!

Ha yeah for some reason I added Liliput later, as if Kleenex wasn't enough, I dunno.

And yeah, I was going to stick to orig. period ones only, but I started compiling a few who aren't and then my guidelines kinda faded a bit. I still am looking more for orig. period but any excellent new bands (like Rogers Sisters or Erase Errata) can fit into the list.

this morning, I threw into the mix: Maximum Joy (former Glaxo Babies)

And I shall check out Marie & The Atom, Thx for the recommendation!

pylon is a great call.

and you might as well add the b-52's while you're at it (at least the first album).

if siouxsie and the banshees count, shouldn't x-ray spex as well? everything other than "oh bondage up yours" is a good ways from straightforward punk.

Hm I dunno whether the solution is to take away siouxsie or add x-ray spex.

Is that punk, instead of post-punk?

I was thinking of all those bands on Crass Records like Honey Bane, Poison Girls, and Lost Cherries...but then I thought that they were more punk than post-punk.  Also, Witchknot, for a more contemporary name.  I used to be really into all those bands, and I suppose they still have their moments.

But yes, X Ray Spex are fabulous.

Ha thx for the offering but I think I'm gonna steer clear of garage-y stuff as much as I love me some Girls In The Garage volumes 1 through whatever..

The Flying Lizards had some cool dubby stuff.  They had a moderately popular version of "Money (That's What I Want)" but most of their stuff was better than that.

And Bjork's old band KUKL was pretty cool as well.
