Jeb is 25, correct? I am also bad at guessing ages. There's a million girls I work with who I assumed were my age (22) but they're like 35.

Aw shucks.  FWIW I sometimes tell people I'm 22 and then I think to myself..."Wait aren't I older than that now?" but nope...born in '85.  There are people at work that were convinced that I was pushing 30.  I had to show them my license to prove that I just broke 20 a couple years ago.  I guess, in my opinion, it's good that I'm physically aging fast.  I am really looking forward to having a big white wizard beard.

Until my sophomore year of college, when I started making friends the year below me, I was always the tot because of my birthday; often there were people my grade or year at school well over 365 days older than me. It was cool, though, because I was (and remain) tall(ish), so I wasn't out of place physically. I do always feel compelled to explain how my brother is five years older than me but only four grades ahead of me, etc., because I don't want people to think the jerkbutt was held back or anything. I'm a good sister. Glad my mom pooped me out when she did, though. People aren't hungover on my birthday, and I get to be really fucking obnoxious about being the toddler genius, etc.

I don't want to be 23, even though that was my number in basketball (not because of Jordan). Darn.

I don't want to be 23, either.  I'm pretty cool with being a 22 year-old dude.  I kinda wanna stay 22 all the way up until I'm 32.  By then I'll be ready for my thirties.  Until then I just wanna be a senior in college chillin' out and finding solace in not being in that first stage of post-education ambivalence otherwise known as the "mid-20's"

I just turned 26, and I actually had my first genuine "I am starting to get old" pang when I realized, just a few days before my birthday, that I'm going to be 30 in 4 years.  I'm not that stressed though.  Sure, this is not where I thought I'd be 4 years from 30, but all I can do is keep living and do my best.

I'm probably never doing an acoustic Dear Astronaut set again. Especially not when we're playing a venue where the heat is out and I can't feel my goddamn fingers. I only rarely enjoy playing by myself (tour was an exception, by and large) and even with the drummer I still would have way rather been playing loud, uncomfortable rock songs. That's where I'm at. I still feel these songs, somewhat, but not in the same way. The Dear Astronaut Waterfall Band is now a recording-only project. There may be rare acoustic sets, but only in friends' living rooms when everyone is wasted. And when I can feel my fingers. I don't do much pickin', but that shit is IMPOSSIBLE when your fingers feel frozen to the bone. I feel like I embarassed myself tonight, and really my biggest worry is that when people think of DA they're going to think of shit like this, and then skip seeing the band stuff, 'cause they'll think it's this half-assed, poorly played acoustic crap, when in reality the full band stuff is really, really good, and it'll probably tear your head off. DALKFKLDSAKFDSAKFHKDSHKAADS. At least everyone else was really good. Real Live Tigers was absolutely captivating, as always.

I'm 27. And in the last month I've been mistaken for 35, 46, 21 and late thirties. Actually this all happened on one night a couple of weeks back when I was out for dinner with a friend, and popped outside the resturaunt for a smoke. An old homeless guy came up to me to bum a smoke and some change, as he was lighting up my friend came running outside and gave me a giant hug. The homeless dude wondered whether it was my birthday or something, my friend informed him that it had been a month or so previously and this was the belated celebration. The dude asked how old I was, and couldn't believe me when I told him, said he figured I was at least 35, which amused my friend, although not as much as when he started calling his friends down the street to come and guess how old I was. It was kinda like a church fate, where I was the giant jar and my age was a number of jelly beans.

Anyway, annoying me rightnow is that I'm as nesh as hell despite being inside and wearing thermals.
