So I've been worried about this batch of brown ale that I'm brewing, because my airlock hasn't been bubbling as actively as I thought it should. There was definitely fermenting action, because I could feel pressure underneath the lid of the bucket. But I just checked the gravity, and it's coming along great! It'll probably be ready to bottle in a couple days, and when all is said and done should clock in with and ABV just over 8.

Stopped at South of the Border on my way back from Thanksgiving.
Thus, Blenheim's ginger ale.
Thus, bourbon and ginger.
Thus, (spicy, tingly) happiness.

I've been drinking gin and tonic the past couple of days.  It's pretty good.  You can get gin reasonably cheap and not have it be grossssssssss.  I splurged and got beefeater this time for 18

Gin and tonic is what I am all about. I would say there is no occasion that isn't right for G&T.

Careful with really cheap gin though, it will make you hurl even if you get the mixture perfect. In my experience, at least.

On the cheap gin tip, Boodles usually runs in the $16-17 range and I like it better than pretty much any other gin I've ever had.

I stopped at the package store to restock Jameson, and also bought Brooklyn Brewery Black Chocolate Stout  (10.6% abv). It's pretty much opaque, even when you hold the glass up to the light.

I dunno dudes, cheap gin IS really bad but Gordon's is, I think, entirely inoffensive.

I mean I wouldn't make a martini out of it, but for gin and tonic's it runs me 10-11 bucks and... well, is awesome.

My buddy picked me up a bottle of Black Velvet's RESERVE 8 YEAR. He and I have, in the past, had many black velvet drunks, and so this was a thoughtful gift.

It's actually really decent. And I'm somewhat of a whiskey snob.

I don't drink vodka, but I need a bottle lying around for my bloody marys. Aquavit in a BM (I call it an Erik The Red!) is all right, but sometimes you want something more orthodox. What should I buy? Obviously, considering its intended use, artisanal quality is not a necessiity, especially if there is concomitant artisanal price.

I think you would be fine with whatever vodka is on special in a nicy spicy B Mary, but Stoli is always good to have around anyway for whatever, so I would buy that. What is your recipe for a B Mary (yum)?

I was just gonna reply that you can't beat gordon's for a 10 buck bottle o gin.  I've had crystal palace, straight, ugh.

Seagrams gin isn't awful.
You don't wanna go super cheap, but any of the 10-15 bottles are actually pretty decent

tonight I had a Pyramid Hefe followed by 16oz beefeater and tonic followed by a Full Moon (Blue Moon).

I'll probably finish er out with another g t, while watching Monday's episode of heroes on the puter. I've been alternating between studying for my civil procedure final, posting here, and playing video games all day.  I've essentially gotten in about  6 hours of studying today without going nuts, but I'm a little burnt out.  Booze!

Why is damn redbeard always logged in?  Is it because he's browsing deep  into the disturbing and erotic lptj forums archives searching for masturbation material?

No recipe. I work strictly pantry when it comes to most things. Right now I've got a jar of mix from some farm.

Jameson. Sigh. You're after my very heart.

3/4 of 3 bottles... you drank 2 and 1/4 bottles of wine? Is that right?
