HA! HA! HA! Happy!

The other thread got up to 22 pages, so here is a new one.
Dickweeds, bitches, dumbheads, stupidbutts: today I finished the last of my goddamn applications to graduate school, putting me a MONTH ahead of schedule and meaning you guys don't have to listen to me moan about this shit anymore, at least until the results roll in. And I have three volumes of
Homicide
waiting to be watched, and all the ingredients for chocolate chip cookie batter to be mushed together, baked, and then mushed together again -- IN MY MOUTH -- and under two weeks until I'm in New York City again.

Woot! Go hh. I'm sure you'll get in wherever you choose. You should get a reco from DM he could be all "She's the best fucker for the cocksucking fellowship hoople head"
I have to say I'm still thoroughly enjoying winter break. I've done next to nothing but watch FNL, read Cormac McCarthy novels, smoke pot and play video games. Covered my nut w/r/t grades last quarter, which was definitely going to be the hardest of my senior year. All is well!

That's awesome, well done Hannah!
Recent causes of happiness here have been the fact that I signed a contract for a room in a pretty excellent neighbourhood in Maastricht on Monday (though I haven't met the people I'll be sharing the house with yet, so we'll see how that goes) and a contract with the university yesterday, which means that I'll be having both a place to stay and an income before too long. I also managed to navigate through the entire room search, employment talks and contract signings in Dutch, which is quite an accomplishment really (people here are generally quite ready to switch to English or German at the smallest sign of communication difficulties). And my favourite part was that the meeting with the administrative coordinator of the graduate school was originally supposed to take place a day earlier, but postponed because the dean of the faculty didn't have time on that day, which would have led me to assume that he had some important things to discuss with me. It turns out that he only wanted to meet me to give me a huge grin as I was walking down the stairs towards him (as though the fact that I was here was the best thing that happened to him all month) and tell me how happy he was that I'd join the faculty and that he really enjoyed my presentation in the application process and was looking forward to having me here. Nice!
Also my friend Maria and I will be dropping by at the factory outlet of Lindt chocolates later today, and on Friday I'll be seeing edison and his lady (and Justin Broadrick, too). Things are pretty excellent right now, I have to say.

Not bad, not bad!
Looking forward to seeing alex, mmmaria, and their Lindt chocolates, too, it's been a long time! I'm also happy that we're probably going for my birthday lunch today at the Indian restaurant, and that I got paid for my participation in the sleep experiment.
edit: also, it looks like it's not going to be pouring rain all the time during your stay (only freezing cold, but that's better already), which is quite an improvement!

Met a couple of my lecturers and they were more then helpful. I even found out that one of them grew up on the same council estate as I did, all be it a decade before. Which if nothing else gives me hope that they won't kick me out of when they see through my carefully orchestrated disguise.

Sounds excellent! Can you please do something against the freezing cold, though? My winter shoes are falling apart, so I am not equipped to put up with it. Don't make me do something crass and spend my holidays shoe-shopping!

I'm officially finished with teaching this semester's classes! The final writing exam is today, and then I have speaking exams on Monday and Tuesday. Then a couple of days to get my final grades together (they're almost finished, 'cause I am ORGANIZED AS FUCK this semester), some interviews for the winter intensive program, and a week off starting on Christmas!

Congrats to all who are done studying and/or teaching for the semester.
As for myself, I done got a Wii today. This was a pure luck situation. The second after I asked, 15 people swarmed around and asked for Wii's, too. I'm pretty sure they didn't have enough for everyone.

OMG, I am so tired of people calling every 5 seconds and asking for Wiis. I'm half tempted to offer mine up for $500 to crazy Target patrons who want them.

After Friday I'll be done with the first semester.
Friday = drunxor
saturday = drunxor
sunday =chillax/drunxor
monday=christmas part/drunxor
tuesday =chillax/drunxor
wednesday= fly to montanaaa
Next Wednesday will be roughly 4 months in DC... and also 4 months out of montana, which is the longest I've ever been out of big sky country. (next longest was like a week)

Cause you like the process of shopping so much that finding the pair that's right for you will take up your whole time here? I'll ask God to postpone the freezing cold, though.

Here's my wishlist:

Longsword

Italian Hand and a Half
http://www.wargod.co.nz/500926.html
(the one above)
Irish Two Hander

German Hand and a Half

Italian Falchion

The Italian Hand and a Half is a little bit of an odd-one-out, not being an out-and-out cutter like the others but more suited to thrusting. However, I think it's an unbearably gorgeous sword.

I stole me a bowler hat from school today. That's a better thing to take on your last day than cliched insubstantial wise words from yer principal.
