This spaceship is damn cool:

In the style of the classic Space sets.

And in other news: my roommate's girlfriend gave him a Batman Lego set like, a year ago.  He never built it, so he just gave it to me.  I may spend a quiet evening in my room tonight, building the Batmobile.

Is that spaceship from somewhere or did dude just make the model on his own?  Because if it's not from somewhere, Sci-Fi needs to snatch him up to be their new ship designer.

The guy made it himself.  Apparently, that cockpit is actually a somewhat-rare Lego carrying-case from back in the day.

I would love for this guy to be a designer for the mass-produced sets.  The whole reason I stopped following Legos was because they started coming out with all these sets that had huge custom pieces, rather than having you build each shape from tons of smaller pieces.  The amount of creativity at Lego has been on this awful downward slope for the last fifteen years or so, which kinda bites.

I can already tell that several times tonight, my mind will wander and I will end up thinking about Greg sitting in his room by a desklight meticulously piecing together the Batmobile...

and I will grin very widely.

Leg!  Leg!

Sheep.
Bison.
Euro.
Media (increasingly).

I know we've done this before, but it breaks my heart to see the name of my most important childhood toy sullied in such a manner.

I was all about some Lego Space.  M-Tron (the vehicles with all the magnets) and Ice Planet were my favorite sets to dick around with.

It makes me sad, too.

And if it weren't for this place, I wouldn't even know anybody said it wrong.

man, i love all the blatant high-horsery from citizens of countries who are under the impression that the word think is pronounced "fink".

Heh... "to-mae-to" never stops being funny.

Whenever I asked for ketchup in Britain, they'd always ask the clarifying question "To-MAH-to ketchup?"  And I would nod.  I still kind of regret not saying "No, the other kind, please," just to see what exactly they had in mind.
