i saw dan deacon in my friend wolfgang's basement three years ago. i'm sure it was awesome but brian narwhalz was standing right in front of me and kept raising the roof and his pits smelled SO BAD i ended up having to leave after a few songs.

watch those ultimate reality youtube clips and see if thats something you would want to see, i dunno. its only like 30 minutes long, so without the solo set to back it up it would seem kind of skimpy to me, but its definitely a really cool thing to see. depends on the price i guess?

edit: i guess you said it would be free, so yes. you should go get your mind blown.

January 25th - Chicago, IL @ Lakeshore Theater (now w/Dan Deacon set as well)
Cool

I guess he's playing a show with Girl Talk at the Empty Bottle the next day, which is why there wasn't one initially.  I'm definitely going.

This is going be insane.  I honestly can't imagine this happening at the Lakeshore Theater.  It's like, an actual theater.  It's mostly a comedy venue; they don't have many music shows there, and when they do, it's someone lowkey.  It's not like people are just going to sit and watch... this is going to be awesome.

No shows anywhere near me (richmond, virginia)... bummer.

I've seen Dan Deacon twice and was blown away both times. The show that Andrew is referring to was amazing. There was one of those moments were suddenly everyone understands what to do and performs to the tee. He was in the middle of the crowd and shrunk down as a build up started. Everyone stuck their hands out into the circle that Dan was in the middle of and did the musical theater thing were you wiggle your fingers while raising them slowly with the music. When the crescendo hit everyones hands were straight up and we all went apeshit. It was golden.

If by "tonight" you mean next Tuesday, then yes.
