Has this one been used before? I mean, it's mind-bogglingly obvious, since the separated-at-birth element is the entire point, but whatever:
That Auer/Stringfellow EP is about my least favorite thing they ever did besides
Nice Cheekbones and a Ph.D
., but it's still a pretty cool homage.

Every time I go to sell that album, I stop myself cos Will Turpin signed my copy. And then I figure I'll hang onto it for another day.

gosh, that's kind of uncanny. The visuals are not particularly similar, but the covers are actually totally isomorphic with each other.

Someone's probably already done this one, but when I looked for my copy of
Everything Falls Apart
, I noticed how the colors on the cover of
Warehouse
reminded me of
The Loon
.

Well, i guess they play on eachother, but, uh, is it an attempt to right the image of america sort of winning in the last one? There's 14 years between 'em and kings of metal was first.

That's what I thought. What's even stranger, is that in the most recent issue of Magnet, there's a Jagjaguwar advertisement that has both of those albums right next to one another. It just seems a bit redundant to have set it up that way.

i got that issue the other day, like a month after i started seeing it on bookstore shelves. ugh.
i've subscribed to MAGNET for probably 3 or 4 years, but i'm getting tired of it. i think i may let this year run out and then switch to PASTE, which has much better free CDs and generally covers more of the music i actually listen to.

Oh, and Davy, Paste's offices are down the street from my apartment, across the way from the bar I normally go to.
