I've had too much tonight - wanted to mention Odell Brewing = Fort Collins, Double Pils - this is double trouble and delicious even though I've found Ft. Collins to be meh at best...great beer.

I've had a few more beers than usual tonight. The last of which was a Bell's Amber Ale. Good, but not unbelievable. I mean... Bells in Michigan is like.... um... Boulevard in Omaha?

Bell's seriously brews some of my favorites though, like Hopslam, or Bell's Best Brown which is one of my all-time favorite drinkin' beers, and pretty much everything they do is solid. Better than Boulevard by a damn sight, though they're a fine brewer too. Your problem is that you're drinking an Amber, which isn't really even a real style of beer even though every brewery makes them. They generally turn out to middle-of-the-road concoctions to make the mildly adventurous Budweiser swiller think he's drinking some quality shit.

Bouleveard does not have a huge presence in Omaha IMO, I don't mind the Pale Ale but don't drink any of the rest, chicks seem to like the Bully wheat with lotssa Lemon though...

Just had an Odell IPA - ridiculous - far superior IPA than anything I've had recently, inc. the Sam Smiths. Goose Island - the 90 Schilling Ale is legit too...

Have we ever had a Jonnie Walker talk here?
I don't like JW, but I've only had the red and the black.
Am I gonna like the blue? Anybody want to give me a glass of it to find out?

I have to admit that I've never been a fan of it either. I, like RB, have yet to try the blue label, though.

I dunno if this is pertinent to this thread but has anyone every quit drinking? How did it affect your social life? Cause I am really bored right now.
I've never really drank that much but there's but a couple of times in the last few months where things have gotten pretty hairy, and I've not really enjoyed the person that I become when I go overboard. I've kinda decided to try and just not drink at all because I have a family history if cha know what I mean.

I believe I've had all the colors (many thanks, open bar!), but none of them struck me as particularly worth the price. I mean, for all of them, my reaction was "This is some damn good whisky!" But I wouldn't really seek any of them out on my own.

I was in AA for a few months in high school. Umm, it sucked real bad. You hear some crazy ass stories though. My sponsor refused to work with me because I wouldn't quit smoking herb. That's about the point that I said "FUCK THIS!"
Then I went to college and learned how to abuse alcohol all over again! I've never looked back!
I rarely, rarely, rarely drink liquor anymore, however.

I'm trying to decide what I want to do. Do I want to go to Beertopia and get a sixer of something marvelous, or do I want to visit one of my fine local brewpubs and pick up a growler of something marvelous? Right now I kind of really want a growler of Jobber's Canyon Pale Ale, but I'd have to brave Friday night downtown traffic to get it.

Southern Tier Brewing Company Unearthly Imperial India Pale Ale. "An uninhibited infusion of hops. . . (some more words). . . To underestimate Unearthly is to trifle with the mysteries of the universe, so please consume wisely." I'm a little bit intimidated by my beer. Should be a good night.

I'm afraid the beer is winning. It's really quite friendly about it, though.

Fucking hell! This is a sneaky, sneaky drink. I'd swear to you that there's no way I could be drunk from 22 ozs of beer, but in going to pour the last of the bottle into my glass, I totally overfilled the glass because I didn't think it was that close to the rim. Also my teeth are sort o f numb. Also, it's really quite good--hoppy, but not bitter, sort of fruity, feels thick, beautiful amber color.
edit: also, i think it took me like five minutes to type that and there are typos and stuff, but I can't really be bothered to fix them.

Jeezum Crow, girl, what's the ABV on that IPA?
I had some wonderful beers tonight, but they paled in comparison to the wonderful company I kept.

See this beer? Most beers go up to ten. This one goes up to ELEVEN.
I really oughtta be working on some puppetry right now, but the devil on my shoulder is encouraging me to crack open a bottle of Brooklyn Summer Ale and cook and watch some Deadwood.

So it turns out my roommate parked me into the driveway. Lucky for me there are like 4 bars and a liquor store within 2 blocks of my house. So instead of either of the above options I strolled over to the Dundee Dell and had pints of New Belgium 1554 and Anchor Steam. Now I'm gonna go downstairs and make myself a margarita to drink while I take a shit before bed.

This is what happens when your girlfriend goes out of town for a couple weeks.
Extra points if you noticed: the upside-down skull in the bottle of rye, the beer bottles nestled snugly in 'Vintage' Strawberry Shortcake mugs, and, yes, LPTJ on the screen.
