Due to a comment from peacocks in the random thread, I'm starting this one.  For craft-type projects people are working on.  Even though it's not my project, I am immensely excited about the possibility of Andrew making a quilt out of all his old band t-shirts.

Speaking of T-shirts:  my friend fenster recently showed me this terrifying YouTube video of Elijah Wood showing us his "dancey-dance".  So for fenster's birthday, I made her this shirt:

I like making things with brightly coloured paper.  Some of these have been posted before, but that was a while ago.

I'm also slowly learning patchwork quilting.

Edit: The first three pics are the same thing taken from three different angles- a tower made of modulor origami.

Thanks.  It's a map of a cycle around Dublin city- about 15-20 kms in total.  I used to live near the bottom right section.

It currently hangs over my bed.

Nickosaurus would've jizzed pics all over this thread back in the day.  Then he'd be rude.

I haven't built anything useless in a while.

I'm working on these.  It's awesome, but tedious.  The yarn is a silk blend and they are going to feel soooo nice on my feet.

I am crafty, not craft-y. And for the second of these I can offer only this.

I'm knitting a tank top for my friend.  I found some clearance yarn I really liked, and a pattern, but it was in a stupid pattern book that was like $5 and there was only that one pattern I wanted, so I just took pictures of it with my phone and have been knitting from that.  It's awesome.

I am shocked (SHOCKED) that there hasn't been a post from a guy perving out over that last pic.

I was gonna say something to the effect of DAY-UM, thems some sexy backs-o'-knees.  I imagine the rest of the ensemble includes a short, plaid (or perhaps green corduroy) skirt.

i think what was going on there was comparable to the way it always takes a few songs for anyone at a high school dance to work up the courage to ask someone else to dance. then once one person does it, everyone else feels ok to do it too.

See, I'm such a knitter that I didn't even look at anything other than the socks and the way they're knit in that picture.  It didn't even register that they were on a person.

I keep trying to figure out whether she's standing on a table or whether the wine and glasses are on the floor...

It's on the floor. Notice the baseboard on the wall.

Good call.  I thought it was a baseboard, but then I started thinking it might be the surface of a table or something...was confused by the perspective.

Does anyone have a yin-yang knitting pattern?  I've been commissioned to make a shawl based on some book series some of my friends read, and it's supposed to have just the white half of a yin-yang on it, and it would be a lot easier to have a pattern to work with than to have to try to improvise that, since I'm improvising the shawl pattern already.  Help!

I bought flat spraypaint instead of the textured stuff by accident and it looks kind of shit but it sprays a lot better than the old can. So I'm unsure.
