This is new: I got a rejection letter through the post. The fact that this is the first employer to take the trouble to send me a rejection in hard copy rather than just email it makes me all the more bummed that they hate me.

Man, getting rejected is awful. I hope something good turns up for you soon!

Bummer, but at least they bothered to reply, which is more than I can say for most applications I've sent (I'm always annoyed that employers don't even have the courtesy to write back if only to say "fuck you and your shitty application"). Good luck!

Bloody hell. Well, I've officially moved into being bored. The annoying thing about babysitting these presentations is that they require too much attention to get work done, but not enough attention to be interesting when they're about things I don't care about. Somebody entertain me!

Ooof. Got to Job #1 at around 2, worked until 7:30. Grabbed food, bought a tripod, showed up to Job #2 by 8, proceeded to drink, eat pizza, and shoot a client's paintings until 3. Long, but rewarding day.

I found out (by stumbling upon someone I genuinely like crying in the receiving area) that my manager is now attempting to fire two of his department managers (the stores have a complement of four, normally).  She recently broke up with her boyfriend and is now a single mother completely without support, and the manager found these new limitations on her work schedule necessitated that she step down from her position and take a ~30% pay cut.  Because department managers have to have 'open availability'.  So now she has to either accept a level of pay that is not enough to feed her child or quit the company she's worked 9 years for and go out into the job market, where in this economic climate and region she'll be extremely lucky to get a job that pays a couple bucks more than the insulting amount my manager is telling her she has to accept. 

Right now I'm sprucing up the resume of one of my co-workers.  I think maybe I'll offer to do the same for two or three of the other people who are wanting to leave. 

It's really annoying working in an environment this terrible, but I am a cockroach who thrives on misery and a desperate workaholic, so I can hardly imagine how everyone else in the store must feel.

Unrelated: I am probably going to switch to part time at work, 30 hours instead of 40. A six hour day would be magnificent. Good bye paid time off, though.

Some caterer effed up a food order at my company, so my office got a bunch of free food by way of apology.  I've been eating chunks of pineapple all morning!

so i've been at work for less than an hour and i already want to leave.
my supervisor is sleeping with one of the other people in the office, and as such she basically gets paid to read blogs and do her homework and not actually work at all.

o and she makes her own hours and doesn't have to answer to anyone and it is really pissing me off because i'm forced to pick up all of her slack.

so i think i'm going to attempt to go home early today because i am angry.  even if i am just screwing myself out of monies.
