So I just took my parents to see Johnny Ramone's tombstone at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, and it was a bummer as always to see the huge-ass tribute-quote from Vincent Gallo etched into the otherwise awesome monument for all of time. But they liked it, even though they're not entirely clear on who Johnny Ramone was (I think my mother saw it on the news or something and wanted to see it in person). Also stumbled across Fay Wray's grave, which is decidedly less impressive.

Johnny is my least favorite Ramone. I'd still go see his grave, though. I mean, why not?

i don't know, man--this thread is part of a tradition that began when biggins (i think) made a thread called "if you're reading the forums now, post here". were you supposed to post in that thread every time you were reading the forums? it was never really clear. so sometimes people did, and sometimes people didn't. don't think too hard about it, that's my advice.

It was sort of a low-speed chat room for when there were lots of people online and bored.  I don't think I started it.  But I do like having it around.

It was me! And Biggins is right, there were a bunch of us online doing the low-speed chat room thing on one of the threads late one night (I'm not sure what our issues are with IRC, too fast maybe?) so I started a thread for people online to do the chat thing without getting people who don't like that sort of thing all huffy. Now it's just turned into another random thread, but I think the spirit of non-instantaneous chatting lives on.
