Though I have to say, this is a place where I feel entirely comfortable, and this incident has made me feel like posting pictures of my loved ones is clearly something that I cant do, even here, because it might get shat all over. And THAT fucking sucks.

well you know, this is the mentality that stops people wearing silly clothes and smiling at strangers in the street - the notion that someone about whose opinion you don't actually care might say something rude.

I was going to leave this cos it was pages ago, but I cant stop thinking about how, with all respect and chicken hugging, What? I wasnt saying that this had made me scared or paranoid, what I was saying was that I thought that I didnt have to worry about the possibility of exposing my friends or family to ridicule, but it looks like I do. Hey, I been called a freak and a slut by strangers on the street, been mocked by the Waff, and its all whatever. But someone mocks my mum or my sister or any other loved one, then

If you'd got PBXVI and PIHB, it would have been FTW.

I'm happy because I'm in the fun part of wedding planning.

I'm calling up bakers and setting up cake tastings.

CAKE!

I'm fucking delighted because somehow during the insanity of shooting over the past week, I've managed to get myself some color. Perhaps now that I have a head start on the tanning season, my landlord will quit interrogating me as to what manner of witchcraft keeps me from tanning during the warm months. I tried to explain to him that being of celtic, germanic, and slavic stock, I'm much better suited to the pursuits of literature, engineering, and being the butt of other people's jokes than tanning, but he didn't believe me.

On the other end of the spectrum: Periodically throughout the winter, people kept asking me, "Whoa, where'd you go?  You got a tan!"

To which I had to keep saying, "Uh, I didn't go anywhere.  I went outside this morning, maybe?  I'm wearing a black shirt today?"  Basically some variation on "I'm half-Greek, motherfucker, don't call it a comeback"

I am done with work/about to head home, it's gorgeous out, and I've got an alumni bar night to go to shortly, at a good bar, hopefully with good people. I'm kind of in withdrawal from awesome hangout with Chicago lptjers and being all laidback and on vacation, but this all helps considerably.

I'll be getting my prescription for ten dollars for the next couple months, and then the company is sending my doctor a year's supply. This is really good, because w/o insurance it would end up being like at least $200/mo.

That is pretty awesome Jeb. In fact, I'm pretty sure I had a dream, a long time ago, in which you got drugs for cheap. No joke.

I love being paid $90 to sit and watch movies in a nice house. I am currently in a world of affluence and shopping (for me, this means spending more than $20 at once). I bought a dress from a new op-shop, and (not at op-shop) nice underwear! One's black with multi-coloured guitars all over, the other is green with question marks. At last I can play "do you take the money or the Mystery Box?" games at parties with the latter.

I'm all settled into the new place now and it's a very, very good thing. Smaller, more comfortable with only 3 of us now. The cats have been wandering around outside and didn't run away, the street is really pretty and quiet, and I love living with the Emma's. Once we get the internet on (stealing neighbours wireless right now) I'll be completely sorted. In my room I can type on the computer, reach my turntable and newly shelved records without standing up from the desk.

Congrats on the new homsteads lads.

I took the day off work to attend a civil liberties conference which was damn fine. Met a bunch of new cool people, and found a few new ways to get involved with social action around here. I've now got a couple of contacts at the refugee forum, so hopefully I'll be getting involved with that sooner rather that later. The final workshop I attended got the blood circulating nicely, with a few people being righteous and passionate, whilst not really stepping over into the "you just like to hear yourself talk, don't ya" terriotory. And I've been back at the community centre bar this evening for a few, talking to a few people about the shared spaces thing. Then people started comparing children to trees and I remembered how tired I was.

I am in Lincoln Square. I wanted someplace more proletariat, Kristen wanted someplace safe... I wanted southside, she wanted northside... I wanted rock and roll, she wanted country... we settled on a hood with lots of Germans.

Today I went shopping for bathing suits again only with two girlfriends who know what its all about and I got TWO COUNT THEM TWO sweet bathing suits in which I feel totally normal and not hideous!!! for once!  It's been like 6 or 7 years since I bought a bathing suit and they are both sooo sexy they make naked look tame.  I'm just kidding but we are beaching tomorrow and maybe there'll be pixx.  hold on to your butts.

Had a productive Sunday here - the records arrive tomorrow, and to prepare, I did an improvised mission and borrowed a decent turntable and amp off different people, then got them home, half on the bus and half on foot. The turntable was heavy, there is now much lactic acid, but things sound good considering my slightly silly setup and very small setup area here.
But I am ready for records to arrive now!
