In so many words, yes
When I actually did work for a Hilton-managed property, I always found it hilarious when they'd preach to us about maintaining a professional demeanor and comportment; meanwhile on the TV in the lobby the woman who bears the brand's name is humping a sports car while eating a cheeseburger

I still hate web design.
And I love how the GoLive tutorial (fuck you, I can't afford CS3) spends half the time teaching you the HTML way, immediately followed by caveats that you shouldn't do it using HTML and that CSS is the standard now.

Thanks for the advice, folks, but I just went and straight up washed my hair in freezing water. It sucked, but not as much as I was expecting. Though my hair may still have shampoo in it.

Nonsensical -- I mean, repugnant --
letter to the editor

Quote
To the Editor:
Buried deep in your article was the key reason dermatology is particularly attractive: Dermatology also offers more independence from the bureaucracy of managed care, because patients pay upfront for cosmetic procedures not covered by health insurance. Applying this system to other disciplines would constitute real health care reform.
Why won’t any of the candidates discuss a real solution to our health care mess? Health care is not a right — dermatology gets along quite well with little or no involvement of government or insurance (also known as getting someone else to pay).
Oo, the View is on.

eehhhh. this is a really dumb thing to be annoyed about. I feel like a child, but none of my friends ever want to go to the beach. I'm always bringing it up like hey wanna go to the beach today? have some fun swim do it up? and they are always like "meh, nooo I don't like the beach bla bla bla" especially my roommate.
well today the little fucker decides to ride her bike to the beach just because she feels like it. whatever!

Speaking of the coast of Nebraska, me and some dudes have decided that we're going to have bonfires on the Missouri river on the regular this spring/summer.

That's crap. There's gotta be someplace you can build a bonfire. If not, you're welcome at ours anytime.

I'm sure we could build one, but I'm also sure a park services dude or dudette would tell us to knock it off and give us a fine. Everyone is afraid of fires down here because we're in the middle of a very long drought. I mean, I know there would be sand surrounding the fire but I think they still don't like it. There's also stuff with sea turtles nesting and hatching may-october. Anyway the beach at night is cool!

If I come to Nebraska this summer, which I very well might, count me in!

Wow. Totally accidentally tapped the side of my bong on my beer glass while returning it to my coffee table and knocked a big hole in it. The whole thing shattered when I put it in the sink. Bongwater everywhere. Obviously I have displeased the gods somehow.

And the big chunk I knocked out ended up in my beer. I had to fish it out with chopsticks. This is some reality show drama right here.
At least my good, heavy Anchor Summer pint glass survived without a scratch. I could beat up burglars with it.

About three months ago I started having bad dizzy spells every now and then, I only passed out once but I was falling over in the shower a lot and shit. My doctor said it was just low blood pressure and there wasnt much to be done but to make sure I didnt stand up too fast and stuff. But today I was in town and was getting it real bad, I was in a bookshop and kinda slumped over, no one noticed but it was kind of scary, I had to miss work (I think I'm going to have to quit, been missing way too much, not to mention how much it interferes with my studies) came home still feeling major unbalanced, and weepy too because I was pretty scared. I slept for a few hours and woke with my heart beating so rapidly I felt for sure I was going to have a heart attack or something. Fine now, but man, its pretty freaky

Damn Grace, that sounds scary, hope it won't happen again! I take it another trip to the doctor is on the schedule?
Making me really annoyed: the fact that my interview just got pushed back to Friday afternoon, which pretty much kills the plan of spending a beer-drinking, chocolate-eating weekend with alex and our lurker friend. Stupid stupid stupid. Also, I didn't sleep so great and my legs and back hurt, but that's probably mainly stress.

Grace, that sounds shitty, i hope you start to feel better soon.
Edison, I don't think the great interview thread has ruled out going in drunk or with a hangover, so hold on before you make any snap decisions.

Nah, the thing is I would have gone after the interview, and since it's 4/5 hours of driving to get to Maastricht/Aachen, going there for two days only makes little sense.
Eh, I'm sure we'll have other opportunities, but still, this is dumb.

I haven't been able to log into my paypal account in like three fucking weeks. And I've done nothing about it cuz every time I try, I wait for about ten minutes before throwing up my hands and saying fuck it. But now that I've actually got an auction going, I'd like to know things are kosher with the account.
Has anyone else had a problem with their paypal account? Every time I try to log in, it just times out.
