Yeah but he picks up those Hispanic votes by going with Clinton, anyway. Richardson seems like a stand up guy, don't get me wrong, I just think if Obama wins, he's got more to lose going with Richardson than with HC. HC plays strong with a lot of blue collar workers and Hispanics and older Dems.

See, either way the ticket shapes up, I think an Obama/HC campaign would be pretty much unstoppable. Obama would get out the hipster vote, while Clinton could rally our traditional base. A shared ticket would make me happier than anything else. And since they've so few differences when it comes to policies and the issues, it wouldn't seem disingenuous or slapdash.

Clinton/Obama 08!

Or Obama/Clinton 08!

i don't know, man, i think if clinton's the vp more hispanics will go to mccain than will with richardson as vp.

i mean, unless mccain starts pandering heavily to that good ol' republican base and hammering on publicly about immigration. that will piss a lot of hispanics off, and if he drives them toward the democratic party in heavy numbers he straight up ruins his chances. he may be stupid enough to do that--god knows he hasn't seemed very politically astute thus far. we'll see.

What? How do you figure? Analysts were predicting a win in TX for HC because of the Hispanic vote. Why in fuck would they flock to McCain if she tickets up with Obama?

Also yeah McCain's gonna have to start toeing the party line w/r/t immigration policy here very soon. That's not going to make him any friends in Hispanic districts.

I can't imagine McCain going gung-ho about immigration now, after making it through a primary against Romney and Huckabee without stepping it up. I think his political stupidity is more just a result of him being an old man who doesn't really give a fuck about his image.

maybe...and this is just a thought...but what if, it snows really hard in the next primary and they end up at the same motel. obama goes to fill his ice bucket and he bumps into her. they stare at each other, you know, with hatred, but both realize they uh, left their room keys in their rooms and their staff are not opening the doors. so they start, you know, sharing devilishly funny quips about each other, and by the end of the night, all this sarcasm-laced comedy, all these 'zingers' have turned into a mutual attraction. you know, she's in his lap, with her purple breastcoat, leaning back with her gray hair blowing in a cold wind. i think there's about as much chance that happening as either one being the other's vice president.

I agree with milly.  the chances of Obama/Clinton 08' or Clinton/Obama 08' are about as likely as Clinton tickling his prostate 08

net root rumors are they hate each other, major media anchors always let it slip in asides. hillary has gotten too negative in her campaigning for forgiveness this election cycle, neither one would accept being vp. it's a marriage made in heaven for democratic voters, but, heaven is a far off place.

i'm saying that hispanics being a more socially conservative group on the whole than most, would be more likely to swing to mccain than to obama if that were their choice. obama will need something to counteract that. i think hillary could keep most of the ones voting for her in the primary if she's the presidential nominee, but that she won't be as powerful at keeping them away from mccain as the vp. i think richardson would have more power there.

Ah. I see. Perhaps you're right. But personal animosities aside and all, they'd be crazy not to ticket up together. That'd please pretty much everyone I know, Obama supporters included.

I'll have my fingers crossed.

So if a Clinton/Obama ticket takes the White House, and somebody shoots Clinton, will that be an attempt to secure a black presidency, or will it just be because people hate Hillary?

so if an obama/clinton ticket takes the white house, and somebody shoots obama, will that be an attempt to secure a female presidency, or will it just be because people hate obama?

see, the question makes about as much sense either way.
