I can't find it, so let this be the new one.

For anyone who remembered this from the uncertainty thread.

Major uncertainty over here.

After basically five years of not knowing what the hell I'm doing with myself; working odd jobs, ambling aimlessly around, fretting over my future, I've recently decided what I want to do. I want to be a teacher. It's something that has been in the corner of my mind since I can remember, but I've never seriously commited to anything.

Anyway, I just phoned the local college to ask about this access to higher education course that they run (basically a 1 year course of general studies that allows you to go to university at the end) with the aim of doing that and then going on to uni to work towards becoming a qualified teacher. I am going to pick up an application now. You have no idea what a big deal it is to be making even a tiny step like this, for my whole life I've been the kind of person that finds it hard just to get simple things done.

So yeah, a whole host of uncertainties right now. What if I can't even get on the course and my plans are obliterated before they even get off the ground, what if I do get on the course and I mess it up because I'm such a procrastinating, unorganised mess, what if it's just not financially viable for me to do this? blah blah blah. Yes , I'm crazy.

There was even more certainty because the course had been oversubscribed and I was a little late in applying, the course leader was waiting to hear if he could get funding for more places, and the desicion was being made at a govermental level. Anyway, I just had a phone call now telling me that he can offer me a place. I start on Tuesday! Here's to my future! !!!!

Thanks for everyone who wished me good luck!

Nice!  Do you know what kind of teacher (subject/grade level) you might want to go for?

I don't tend to find these that funny, but I make a BIG exception for the Tears for Fears "Head Over Heels" video, maybe because "something happens and I head over here" is super funny to me.
