In Bruges was pretty great for what it was. Ralph Fiennes, as always, was awesome.

I dunno why I never thought of doing this before, but it just occurred to me today that while I'm spending hours and hours at the uni library, I can rip movies from the media collection while I study. None of the inevitable late fees that come with actually taking the DVDs home, this way! Today I got Network, Quiz Show, and the French Connection.
Ripping movies seems to make my notebook run at about 90 degrees Celsius, however, so maybe best not to overdo it.

Holy FUCK but
Network
is one of the best films of the past four decades. I'd forgotten. Sidney Lumet's later sins notwithstanding, this film is fucking incredible. Seriously. Maybe it's just because it plays so precisely to my interests (the media, fashionable dissent, revolutionary movements of the 6t0s and 70s, and the perennial favorite of not only myself but so many of my fellow American media consumers: the disgruntled, possibly disturbed oracle), but MAN. This film is fucking GREAT.

And as long as I'm drunk and enjoying the everliving fuck out of this film I'd mostly forgotten about, let me pose the question: Where in the FUCK are all of our intelligent, self-reflexive, self-examining pictures like this nowadays? Why has our our national theater been reduced to cliche and trite and overreaching pat parodies of itself? Where is our fucking SATIRE, god damn it!? Why aren't films like this being made anymore?

Well she's one of the most beautiful human beings alive today but really she's not all that great when it comes down to it. Loved her in P&P but other than that her resume reads like a bad joke and she's apparently getting typecast if that trailer I saw before
In Bruges
is any indication

knightly's unnatural beauty was a good contrast to rourke's unspeakable ugliness. if rob zombie ever makes a new friday the 13th like he did halloween, micky can play jason. shit -- that nigga don't need a hockey mask. fuck, they could call him micky in the movie. 'it's micky, he's emerging out of crystal lake wrapped in chains and high on muscle gain powder! run!"

what! that was a good halloween movie. i mean, considering i think the one before it starred ll cool j. you gotta put these things into perspective.
also his next movie tyrannosaurus rex is from what i've read based on a semi-pro wrestler vs satanic bikers, taken from the nail by steve niles and zombie.

just because there are other bad halloween movies doesnt make his shitty halloween movie less intensely shitty. also all his other movies are crap so that doesnt help either.
that new one sounds like it has a promising set up anyway, maybe he can break his streak.

I Thought The Devils rejects was offensive, but scary and not disappointing.
The thing I dont like about Miss knightley, aside from she's an awful awful actress, is that everyone goes how refreshingly unconventionally attractive ( I think she's not attractive at all BTW) but she's supposedly unconventionally attractive while still being young, tall, skinny, clear skinned, full lipped.... how exactly is this unconventional again?

I have a unnessacary hate for Knightley, not due to her acting skills or ow she looks, but unsurprisingly based on class rage. She's a decent enough symbol for a kind of obnoxious, over indulged, child from the South, a breed of half-wit which appears to be ever expanding and heading north like termites. She in particular is from Richmond, which has it's special type of "I buy all my food from M&S, because I like their Icelandic chicken broth sandwiches" scumfaced attitude that certainly deserves to be destroyed never mind employed in idiotic films.

Man, that is so totally Andrew. How you like that, TSKS? It's like he's holding up a mirror to all your faults.
