I'm about to go roll and smoke a cigarrette on my porch. In my boxers. Should be pretty sweet.

Livermore, California firehouse features a lightbulb that has been burning almost continuously for over a century

i mean, it's only a four-watt bulb, but that's still fucking crazy. SCIENCE!

Why does the cat have to make so much noise when he eats? I thought that was the dog's prerogative....

my boyfriend has a bad back and so I was teasing him yesterday for being unable to carry some heavy stuff down while moving out of the dorms.

And today I can hardly move because I carried things that were far too heavy for me.

...I kind of like knowing that I at least deserve the pain I'm in.

As I was walking back from lunch, I passed by some city DOT workers who were tearing up Piedmont Rd.  Behind me, I heard one yelling to the others above the clatter of a water pump: "HEY.  HEY, YOU REMEMBER THAT MOVIE 'NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN?'  WELL THERE HE GOES!"

Clearly, I have a famous haircut.

I am thinking of drinking less alcohol by means of picking up a caffeine habit.  What does LPTJ think of this project, check yes or no.

Those two are not mutually exclusive

But if you have to go with one or the other, obviously booze

You could start slowly by adding alcohol to your coffee. I mean, that's what I'd do. I mean, you really should have representatives from all of the food groups* in your diet.

Like I'm going to take advice from YOU.

I mean, I figured instead of the come home/crack open a beer or four/cry self to sleep routine I'm used to, I could maybe replace the beer with coffee and then go to sleep...

ok, this has potential problems.  Maybe I should puss all the way out and drink a nice herbal tea.

edit: girl, the idea is to lessen alcohol intake, not switch over completely to liquor.

Though, I have to admit the idea of a espresso/cocoa/bourbon drink garnished with a single slice of pepperoni is appealing.

You could drink regular tea, which isn't really caffeinated enough to keep you up in bed.  I find it relaxing, anyhow.

One of my colleagues decided I must be a woman the day I told him that, if faced with the hypothetical choice between chocolate and beer, I would go for the former.  It was two years ago and I think he's still trying to get his head around it.

andronicus- Irish coffee?  I make an espresso variation that's to die for, darling.

By "woman" he probably meant "reasonable human being"
