Can I expect to have my face grabbed if I attend one of these CHILPTJ symposiums?

Absolutely, but you have to be careful. The last time I was there, Lucy grabbed my face with one hand, just palmed it like a basketball, and then lifted me off the floor and tossed me over Jim's 4th floor balcony. There are witnesses.

also, here is one of many delicious things I ate in New Orleans:

beignets are the bomb.  and I think Cafe du Monde, despite the tourists and pickpockets and all, might be one of my favorite places on earth.  when I die, please burry me in beignets, k?

Is that just straight-up powdered sugar on top of those things?  If so, holy cow!  That reminds me of Tintin in Tibet.

yes, yes it is.  it is nearly impossible to leave without being covered in powdered sugar.  I think they should install big blowers at the exits to clean you off as you leave.

it's a lovely place--open 24 hours, open air with big awnings and ceiling fans.  pretty much all that's on the menu is café au lait and beignets.  oh, there's a couple of other things, but those are the main thing everyone comes for.  oh.  so.  good.

I can imagine...  God forbid anyone should sneeze in there, or exhale or something.  I would like to eat one.  I wish the French had been in control of more North American cities at some point in their history.

Well, my family owns property and there is a cabin there. I lived there for a number of months recently. There is forest surrounding the cabin. The one to the east (I believe) is referred to as the 'Dark Forest' (by me), as it is dark and cold all through the day no matter what, and is most definitely enchanted.

I have tons of other photos from there. since I'm bored I suppose I could upload some more.

With Josh and his leprechauns, I'm starting to think that everyone in the US outside of LA and New York lives  in a sort of parallel universe, with evil scheming despots, falling down hospitals, glorious, glorious candy and enchanted glades.

I really have no clue what this is, but I think it's awesome. It was hanging upside down on a fence. I took a picture of it.

A cricket

A tree atop a hill

This is not from the forest.
