also, here is one of many delicious things I ate in New Orleans:

beignets are the bomb.  and I think Cafe du Monde, despite the tourists and pickpockets and all, might be one of my favorite places on earth.  when I die, please burry me in beignets, k?

My GOD I love beignets!  My mom used to make them on Sunday mornings with the mix that you can get at the grocery store.  You gotta fry 'em though, which makes normal kitchen cooking sort of impractical and messy (I've been trying to convince tMO that we need a deep fryer.  She ain't going for it).

But we used to have a Cafe du Monde in Atlanta and that made me so happy until Underground Atlanta got taken over by shit night clubs and t-shirt vendors and turned into sort of a nightmare land.

Man I want some of those now.

5 quarts is a lot of quarts

this is probably the best value I've seen for a fryer (my girlfriend won't let me get one either)

I just use a big pot, and about 1.5 liters of oil.  That seems to do me fine.  Although I would like a flat-bottomed basket to lower into it.

your cat looks like a frickin panther! that is awesome!

My cat is in fact a shrunken panther.

Thanks for the kind words guys/girls. It's weird how compliments on your photography means a lot more coming from (almost) strangers than from your own family.

Awesome pics, Daniel!

Just curious: in what part of the country did you take those?

In northern California. Humboldt county more specifically.

Yeah, I didn't comment on them, but those are some really extraordinary photos.  I particularly like the smoke and trees one.

This'll be my last post until I take some more pictures. Problem is, my picture taking has come to a halt since I moved to town. I've been here like a month and have yet to take a picture that wasn't of Tegan and Sara.

Either a Calypso Orchid or a Deer-Head Orchid. But either way it's awesome. We have tons of other flowers in the Orchid family growing up there.

Damn dude, you're a hell of a photographer.

Are you taking pics of T&S professionally or as a stalker?

I particularly like the water one. Thank you very much. All these compliments are making me wanna take more pictures.

Thank you.

Stalker. I went to one of their shows on April 19th and tried to get a few snaps of them. My camera has this thing were it refuses to take good pictures without perfect lighting. So taking pictures at shows is kinda difficult, unless I use flash, which is totally uncool of course.

Great photos Daniel. I love your cat! The "hanging off a fence" thing is some kind of caterpillar that has just started to pupate, I think. Your flower (above) looks like a pansy. Wow. All I can say.

Thanks. Yeah it's probably a caterpillar, but I've never seen something like that before.

I may have posted these before, but check it out. Firstly, it's very weird seeing your cousin on these ads in bus shelters:

Secondly, parody ahoy! (This was drawn back when my trademark handbag was a Babar one. Now it's a Ramones one)

and the unknown is very mysterious!

it's right outside where i practice drums, and the first song i had to learn was called "unknown" so i thought this gate was all a sign or something.

but now it appears to be some kind of underground club.  bummer.

I can't compete with the photography skill exhibited above, but I thought this picture of me in my soccer costume was entertaining. Last weekend, my intramural soccer team was in the championship tournament! We came in second overall. This picture of the team captain (bf, ow ow!) and me was snapped in between games. Everything except the t shirt was borrowed (soccer shoes, sports bra, shorts, high socks). I was like a patchwork athlete!! It was good fun.

we ended up losing. And I SMACKED the ball with my hand really hard. Like I was going to catch it. It was pretty embarrassing. But this picture! This picture makes me happy.
