I am going to an allergist for the first time ever today, which is not annoying.  not being able to take antihistamines for two days, however, sux.  I can barely breathe.

I thought maybe I could use a running-dress.

SPOILER:  they only make skirts, though, and I ain't gonna wear no skirt because unlike a dress a skirt would just look ridiculous.

?

, apparently.

and they have shorts built in. apparently some women just don't feel like women unless the strip of cloth separating their legs is hidden from the rest of the world.

I wish it was more culturally-acceptable for men to wear skirts and dresses.  It's a good look!  European civilization really made the wrong choice with trousers, if you ask me.

so it turns out I probably have asthma.  and I have massive red welts on my arm to prove I am allergic to the world.  plus I just spent $100 on inhalers and medicine and stuff (that's co-pay, and with a coupon for one of them to be free), plus a $50 co-pay for the doctor.  and I have to go back again next week and probably the week after, so they can continue to inject cat spit and cockroaches and whatnot into my skin.

fuck.

also, Babar and Greg:

Ugh, that does not sound fun! I hope you can at least find stuff to help you feel better now. I've been thinking of seeing an allergist for my cat allergies and suspected other ones, but that doesn't make me excited about the prospect...

I have to say I'm glad to have more information, and I've already started feeling better just in one day of having all the meds.  I know a lot of people think allergy stuff is a waste of time, but as annoying (and expensive) as it is, I have been really fucking miserable for the last couple of months, so pretty much anything that makes me feel better is gonna be worth it.  I'll let you know how it goes...

That sucks MoS!
Annoying me is that one of my coolest chillest faltmates is moving out. I offered to make a cake since he's leaving tomorrow, and my other flatmate goes, "I'll eat it if its one of the cakes your mum makes, not one of yours HAHAHAHA"
See if I ever make cakes for my flatmates ever again.

The American health system always shocks me. I'm asthmatic and the last time I went for a refill on my inhaler script it cost me $25 with Dr visit and pharmacy costs.

The cat pissed and shit on my bed while I was gone this weekend.  FUCK.

The bedding is easy...how do I go about cleaning up the mattress?  Any recommended products or procedures?

If you can get your hands on a little steamcleaner, do that. Use Febreeze liberally. Try not to think about it. Not much you can do beyond that.

Vinegar and baking soda, then ammonia or something like OxyClean. All of those have the benefit of cleaning thoroughly and then evaporating. The other option are various enzymatic cleaners that are supposedly good at dealing with "biological" stains, since they kind of eat them up. I think you can get those at natural stores and the like. All of those options I personally prefer to things like Febreeze, which simply cover the smell with other artificial scents which I can't stand.

Those enzyme cleaners do not work very well, in my experience. We use them at the hotel and they are not as effective as some serious chemical odor eliminators.

ha!  I texted her already and told her I'd call her tonight.  Don't want to talk to her at work because I know she'll talk for like an hour.
