I got my Alcest vinyl from Hyperrealist.  This thing is awesome.  I mean, musically, I already knew that, but this is a really well put-together record package.  The colored vinyl looks awesome, too.

the lp must have been the import, though, 'cause it wasn't the southern lord packaging

it was one yellow box that slid into another, the outer one having a heart cut out in the middle

that was the japanese (diwphalanx) pressing...$50 could yield big profits on fleabay...same w/ the poster.

Enju was rationing them, so if you didn't buy one at @ the show early, they were not available after the show.

Greg Summerlin - All Done In Good Time

Got this one yesterday, and not only does the cover look ever more awesome, it's a digipak (yay!), and the liner notes are awesome. If I had a digital camera I'd take some pictures and post them. Anyways, all the lyrics are included, and I'll definitely be spending some time with them. The album has a sub-title I wasn't aware of; the full title is All Done In Good Time: The Life and Times of Polly Shields. The red-haired girl on the cover is holding a red book that has the subtitle on the cover also. Below that in the liner notes it says

The rest of the liners have the (quite extensive) lyrics and include some really cool background art as well. The lyrics are all spoken by one of the characters, sometimes multiple characters in a song, and it indicates which person is speaking which lyrics. Just an awesome concept. Really happy with this one. I'll upload the first two songs again for anyone interested. The first is an intro-type track, and the second is a power-pop monster and one of the best tracks from 2007.

Yeah, like I said, it's a monster song. The rest of the album is really good as well. I'm just starting to read the lyrics, and they're really good. They're written almost in complete sentences, but he never strains the melody to fit in the lyrics, which is key for me. One of my pet peeves is when a singer wants to say something but doesn't have the skill to write graceful lyrics and so awkwardly squashes 2 and 3 and 4 syllables where only one belongs. Josh Ritter and Richmond Fontaine are two artists I like but would enjoy much more if they didn't have this irksome habit.

Also, I'm losing my self-discipline. Despite having bought 6 albums in the last 10 days or so, I'm so thrilled with All Done In Good Time that I'm buying Summerlin's previous release, The Young Meteors EP, in used but "like new" condition. The price: a whopping 1 cent. I figured I better order it now before inflation speeds up and the price doubles.

Didn't somebody post out a comprehensive set of reasons of why the 45rpm Metallica versions are just a gimmick? Anyway, Masters of Puppets is a kickass album, but I'm more jealous of your copy of Dopesmoker.
