having an orlio organic ipa.  not as mindblowingly intense as some of the others i've had, but definitely nice and refreshing.

he got me a trip to san francisco.

I have drank a bit tonight.  I was drinking a bunch of PBR, so far so good.  Then my friend Franky busted out some cognac that is older than me.

Tonight I learned that Celebrator Doppelbock is quite possibly the greatest beer ever brewed.  Or at least for those of us who prefer dark malty sweet beers.

There was a bug in my whiskey tonight and I didn't notice until it was too late.  My insides feel so funny!

My buddy just finished his doctoral dissertation and I told him I'd take him out, my treat, and he could pick the drinks all night

So tonight I ended up drinking nothing but Bulleit bourbon and Bell's lager

Tomorrow will not be pretty

So tonight I went out for 50 cent tacos, like I do. I parked in front of the bar in what was  a perfectly fine parking spot, even though there is a shit load of road work going on in the area. So apparently at some point a city bud driver passes through, or tries to, but can't get around my car. Bullshit. I'm completely unaware of this inside the bar drinking beers and eating tacos as dude is calling a tow truck. Some dude comes in from outside. "Hey, do you drive that Impala out front?" "Yeah." "I think it's about to get towed. There's some bus driver freaking out because he can't get by." I go outside and move my car and just as I do so, grumpy bus driver gets off the phone. They'll never find me now! Bus goes by and all is well and I buy dude a beer. The least I can do, y'know? Close call. Then we went to another bar where pitchers are $4 each. Between 4 of us we drank 4 pitchers. Then me and Drew sit around and drink 2 more. Overall, it was a good night.

Goddamn, I tried this beer on tap at Hopleaf that I hadn't seen on the menu (mebbe wasn't paying close enough attention, can't be arsed to check back on their online menu to see if it's there or not) brewed by Allagash called Fluxus.  Brewed w/ pilsner malts, rye, and yarrow.  Spicy w/ floral and herbal notes, some hints of hefeweizen-style banana and clove but with the rye spiciness and some shit I don't have words to describe.  Never tasted anything quite like it.  Started out tasting amazing, loved it, but it did wear on me by the end of the glass.  Still, A+ for inventive brewing, 'cause you ain't never gonna taste another beer like this one.

I remembered reading something here about Fluxus, but I couldn't remember what. When I stopped at the package store on the way home tonight, they had this, but only in a big bottle for $15. I bought Allagash Dubbel Ale instead. It was a good choice.

and you're right on about the fruitiness, i don't find this beer bitter at all, but not overly sweet either like 90 minute.

I've been singing "the way you look tonight" for about 20 minutes or so my girlfriend tells me.  apparently drinking an 11% bomber is almost like drinking a whole bottle of wine.

I want to go get a beer but I think the building I'm in might lock me out if I leave....
