Mindy suggested her maiden name for Damian's first name before he was born.  I probably would have felt better about it if it wouldn't have been such a stuck-up sounding stick-in-the-ass rich teen TV soap opera sounding first name.

All the names you hear it done with in the south are those same kinds of names, totally.

SO many boys' names have become girls' names over the last century or so. In the late 1800s, the idea of naming a girl Ashley, Cameron, Kelly, Aubrey, etc. would have been unheard of. Now those are all generally regarded as girls' names, maybe even to the exclusion of them being seen as boys' names.

Not so much here.
Ashley can go both ways, though there might be some speling variants. Cameron is still almost exclusively male, Kelly is almost exclusively female and Aubrey is unheard of.

When I named my first son D'Arcy I thought I had an unambiguous name, as I'd only ever heard it as a boy's name. Turns out I was wrong. Did OK with Erik though I think.

I used to know someone who decided to name their unborn child Felix, regardless of sex. Lucky (perhaps) for him he was a boy. I guess the alternative is Felicia, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone (especially since Priscilla: Queen of the Desert). Oh, or Felicity, I guess.

Hah, but Snoop's also short for Calvin, so it would still be confusing and androgynous.

She said it too fast.  It kinda just sounded like she said "doh"  but there could have been something else on the end of there.

I'd think something along the "d'oh" lines would be correct, if she's French.
