I thought I was going to be pretty bored by my classes in the library science program, but they are pretty interesting for the most part!

I thought I was going to be pretty bored by my classes in the library science program, but they are pretty interesting for the most part!

Yeah yeah! The courses about library stuff are typically really great. The courses about tangential things like research methods and administration and, well, metadata--they can get a little tedious. But for the most part, this is good stuff.

The Collection Development course I'm taking right now is probably my favorite so far. Our first major assignment is to fill out review forms on like 20 different book review resources (Booklist, Library Journal, NYT Review of Books, Bulletin of the Center for Children's Literature, etc etc). I've only done a few so far because every time I pick up a new one, I get caught up in it and end up reading reviews and jotting down book titles for later perusal.
