one of the best sounding things i've ever heard. delicious distortion. weirdly relaxing too.

It feels really refreshing to hear something quite unlike anything I've ever heard before, but this is it.

I can't see what the fuss is about. It lacks teeth. It's not metal. It's certainly not Abruptum, and it's a damn sight away from the pre-homicidal maniac Burzum.

I must add the disclaimer that the entire 'noise music drawing input from extreme metal' scene has left me cold.

Yeah, I'm kinda with GI on this. That track is okay but it's not really anything special.

I liked what I heard from the samples on the aquarius page...more so then the track posted in this thread.

Yeah, I didn't listen to the mp3, I listened to the samples which sounded really promising.  The mp3 sounds...less awesome.  So I guess I'll reserve judgment for a thorough listen.

Well, I'll give it another listen, since the backstory deserves that much. But this isn't unlike anything I've heard before: I can't claim to have been on the black metal train since it left the station, but I not only own and adore Burzum and Abruptum and some more recent examples of black metal in the ambient vein, but I've got a decent amount of also-rans as well (Ancient, anyone?) and have been trying out the new things as they arise. And throughout, Velvet Coccoon and onwards, I've simply been left cold by the ones that are more noise music than metal.

more noise music than metal.

I think that's why I like it so much.

It sounds like a lot of "raw, primitive" black metal I've heard over the years. Mostly midtempo rather than fast, going by the mp3 posted above, but other than that, it's not too dissimilar from Burzum or other stuff like that.

I don't care if its metal (in general there is very little metal that I even listen to). I just think it sounds good.

Well, GI's a douche, but I don't care if it's metal or not; I just think it's very dull. It's incredlbly distorted and it was made by a young teenager, so Aquarius records is all over it, but it's not particularly good. If you want more, better, incredibly distorted Aquarius-approved atmospheric black metal, try Wrath Of The Weak's _Alogon_, which I was listening to for the first time this morning on my way to work and which sounded pretty cool.
