My piano and organ majoring brother came up with a game for me, the former English major, to amuse him with.

The traditional memory tricks for the treble clef, Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge, et al, are old and dumb.  So here are some substitutions that haggard theory teacher and studious bassoonist alike can use instead.

The only way I can remember the order of the species classification system (Kingdom, Phylum, Class, etc.) is this awful mnemonic invented by a 10th grade classmate:

King Phillip Can Only Find Gay Sex

This sustained me through several years of biology exams. Props to Maaik for "Enjoy Gary Busey's Drunken Face," that's my favorite!

I also use the stupid suggestion that a buddy came up to associate the Transport layer with Tampon Layer (provides flow control   )

long ago, when i was a geology/oceanography undergrad... the only mnemonic i was ever able to use successfully was for remembering the Paleozoic period, including intervening epochs...
