In happier school news! I will be taking a 2 1/2 hour weekly seminar with a professor I am completely in love with. And at a school that is 80% ladies, I have managed to be the only girl in the class of five. 2 1/2 hours is the perfect amount of time to swoon over my silver fox AND make some substantive contributions.
Can't wait!

I have to write a database design exam on Monday.
I don't know how to write exams. I haven't written an exam in 20 years*.
* Technically not true, but the only exams I've written in the last 20 years are gymnastics judging exams, where you watch a gymnastics routine on a TV and come up with a score and all the values of all the skills within, I don't know, 30 seconds or so for each routine. But I don't think there will be a video portion on this exam.

On a blank sheet: "What have you learned about databases in the last few weeks?"
There, I wrote it for you.
(C'mon, don't tell me you wouldn't want to see the screaming meltdowns created by a test like that.)

I'm getting straight A minuses at the moment! Some for essays I started at midnight the day they were due! I'm pretty stoked, this doesn't usually happen.

Done with this semester! It was a pesky little fucker!
2 more classes this summer and then no more school ever!
(possibly!)
And 3 weeks off starting NOW.

Congrats, Davy! Yay!
I have one class left, in which I have to do a presentation. A final paper to turn in which will mostly be meshing together all of my papers from the whole semester, and a take-home final exam with three short answers (one page each) and a short-ish essay (around five pages) to do over the next week. Then I will be free for the whole summer! Minus any jobs that I might be able to squeeze my way into.

Congrats!
I just finished my first year of grad school! 26 credit hours of straight As, yay. I am so glad I never have to take that many classes ever again. Very ready to move on to mostly research and clinical work.
I am going to go collapse now.

26 credits of grad school in one year? That's CRAZY talk! I did 21 (3 of which were during winter break), and I thought that was plenty! Dang! Congrats on being done and doing so well!!!

This morning, I turned in what is 99% guaranteed to be the final assignment of my academic career.
It's sorta bittersweet.

Yeah but mostly sweet right? Plus, I'm guessing that librarians and their ilk are the sort of professionals that would probably have to take grad level courses periodically to stay up to date, right? Not exactly an extension of your academic career, though. So, it should be entirely because you are an accomplished man.

I finished my Access to Higher Education this week, it has been entirely mental and really stressful at times (not because of the difficulty of the work, but the amount of it) but I'm kind of at loss as to what to do with myself now it's over.
Butttt I will be moving away to University in approximately 12 weeks. Eeek. So soon I will be own starting my academic career in earnest. All kinds of nervous about it.

I am one nothing response and one very short English paper away from clearing the bulk of my remaining schoolwork (and it is the last English paper altogether). After this weekend, there are just two weeks of two possibly unnecessary, cheap classes. I would love to go home and get this thing sketched out in full tonight. It should not be difficult, because the book is Good and the assignment is Precisely Defined. I will like doing it. I will be klingon it into the late hours.

A thing: when you guys say "paper," do you mean essay/written assignment?

'Paper' can mean essay, report/review, analysis, or research, or more often some combination of these. When I was taking classes outside of my major, I might have to write papers for anthropology, literature, political science, and foreign language classes. Each would be different, but they'd all informally be called 'papers'.

Oh, ok, I thought so. We tend to say "paper" to mean a twelve week course subject, as in, "I'm taking three papers next term". I guess you would say "class"? Or something like that?

"Class" or "course," usually.
Interesting language swap!
