FYI, kids, mine and Almanzo's band is playing Friday night, at Silvies on Irving Park. $5 cover, but 'Manzo and I will certainly give our free drink chips to two of you.

Plus, I can't stress this enough: Almanzo off the board isn't unbearable.  Puppy-dog-eyed sincerity
DP, B and I also have a car, so if you're in a bind at some point let us know. Silvie's sounds good for the show at least. That starts at 10. We can hang out wherever before that too if you're looking for things to do! DP, just an FYI, the Art Institute is free on Friday from 5-9p (I think it's 18 regularly) if that makes a difference to you. It'll be more crowded for sure, but still not impossible to navigate the hoards. It's especially crowded these days, as they just opened the Modern Wing two weeks ago. Almanzo and I headed over there last Friday and it was pretty packed, and quite cool-- loved the post-60s room and the architecture room. Certainly worth a look-see. (if you see a long line to the right after the immediate entrance to the wing, its to the film exhibit (which is Steve McQueen's "Girl, Tricky"), since no one could figure out what we were in line for when we went).

Okie, here's teh poop: I'm taking the train up because it's easier and I'll be in at about 12:45. I plan on wandering around downtown and spending most of my afternoon at the Art Institute. I'm pretty familiar with that area and $18 ain't no biggie for the modern wing. Plus, I can probably flash my old student ID and get in for $12. The peeps I'm staying with get off at 5 and I imagine there will probably be some kind of dinner somewhere in there, but barring disaster, I and they will be showing up for the show. I can PM my phone # to whoever feels like being the contact. Super psyched, whole thing should be awesome.

Also, apparently Silvie's is like a half block from the train. God I love Chicago.

Dare you claim Chicago's public transit system superior to the People Mover?!

Unfotunate news about tonights show: It's been moved to midnight.  Also, due to a load of big shits this week on the band front, this is my last show with the band.  But it WILL be an awewsome show if you can come, and Silvies IS damned close to the train.

We can also meet earlier elsewhere. Where (even what neighborhood) sounds good to people?

midnight is too late for me tonight folks but I can probably swing a couple beers somewhere earlier if we can come to a consensus.  I hate to miss Brian's last show w/ Chameleon World but I gotta live with the reality of train schedules and shit.

I know. Huge pain in the ass.  I think, in the end, I will be happier. Right now, I'm mostly frustrated and pissed. But that's fine.  Jim, when I form The RoyBiggins Experience (a working name) we'll have a show in your damned HOUSE if you want! And it'll be awesome.

Yes. This is the question on the hearts and minds of all good Americans.

I'm at the art institute at the moment, but I'm considering a hike to a store for non-overpriced refreshment. I just talked to my party and it looks like I'm meeting up with them around 6. They're in the Rogers Park area. After that, meetups and booze and LPTJ orgy. We just need a place.

DP, head up Michigan a ways if you want and I'll leave work early (I'm Michigan and Erie) and you can grab some refreshment.  You meeting up with your friends in Rogers Park or downtown?

diesel is a pretty cool dude for chilling at a bar with some beers.  Also, Brian and I have different phone #s for blucas, so if the # I have for him is the wrong one I called a complete stranger a bitch and told him/her to come out drinking.

I did a similar thing recently, where a stranger apparently received a text message asking if he/she liked raccoons, followed by a clarification that I like raccoons very much.

This is why you never should've gotten a cell phone, Greg.
