Man I'm in one of those spots where the fact that I want a beer so bad is making me think that the last thing I should have after work is a beer. But I would really like a six pack of a good IPA.

Riddle me this: why is the lack of decent beer usually the least-obnoxious thing about cocktail bars? All the ones in this city are like country clubs for people who think their record collections mean something

Angelshare is a Japanese hangout.  Mayahuel was empty when I was there.  Flatiron Lounge had maybe a dozen people in it.  PDT was a little obnoxious.  I haven't been to Death & Co., yet. 

I mean, have you actually been to any of the places that you scorn?

No, wait! I have been to Flatiron Lounge, whilst shitty drunk. Also: Huckleberry Bar & whatever that whisky & cocktail bar is called on Bedford, the one that thinks it's a speakeasy.

One of the dudes is a firefighter and has to work early the next morning and would prefer the early session for that reason, should we just go ahead and say let's do the early one if it's not sold out?

PDT was good drinking but the best IMO was Flatiron Lounge.  I cannot stress this enough.  Pretty sure it's where Michael Rubel trained (not 100%).

Mayahuel has this watermelon drink that is ridonk.  Also, anything with Del Maguey.
