My dude out there has already been, and said he liked it quite a bit. Though apparently he wasn't so taken with the new Goose Island brew.

yeah, that was sort of my plan; slip in and grab a growler (so psyched that there's a place where I can get one of these now) today or tomorrow during the afternoon, but wait a week or two for the initial crowds to die down before actually going in for an evening.

edit:  Zah?  Goose Island?

I dunno, he mentioned it in the tweet when responding to me asking him about Revolution. I think it's a new brew they just started distributing, and they probably have it there.

Oh, that Green Line Pale Ale, probably.  I haven't had it yet, but yeah, Goose Island is always pretty so-so except for Bourbon County Stout.  I was just confused because the brewmaster there used to work for Goose Island.

yeah, I think the real question here is what night is blucas least likely to bail and then we can try to plan drinks around him accordingly. B and I will pretty much show up wherever/whenever I think!

Also, Brian is requesting pickles/pickle lessons. And has offered up our place as a crashpad.

This is my experience.

And it'd be well worth your while, it's a beautiful apartment.

Yeah, that weekend is an unnamed burl3squ3 festival in Chicago (don't go to it!  it's gonna be terrible!).  I'll be stuck going to one night of it, but I won't really know which until closer to the date.  So plan without me; I'll figure it out.

But in general I'm much less likely to bail now that I have a car!

I'll probably stay a day or two after as well. I don't know about the staying places situation yet cause I'm going as a guest of a speaker. it's very up in the air right now.

But i think there could be time for a pickle party.

All i know is that i need rainbow cone pretty bad.

I want to go to a pickle party!  I mean, as long as that's not a euphemism!

Also I'll wager that I live closer to the original Rainbow Cone than most of the LPTJCHI crew, I don't know, do we still have any Hyde Parkers around here?  There's some other good stuff right around the corner from Rainbow Cone, like Top Notch Beefburger and Jimmy Jamm Sweet Potato Pie.  But I'll come up north for hangouts and beer 'cause that's a lot more convenient for everybody else.

My grandparents lived about a mile from there, 81st and Neenah, wooooooo!  Your parent(s) didn't go to Reavis, did he/she/they?  That would be weird

Hey, good news everyone. I'm going to be swinging into town the first weekend in March. It'll be a pretty short trip... I'm thinking I'll get in pretty late on Friday the 5th, gonna try to hang out with my friends Jerod and Jeny who moved there in December, then on Saturday the 6th my buddy's band is playing at some place called Cole's (which looks like it's just a short way north of Humboldt Park), so we'll probably all go to that and then party a bit afterward. Then I'm heading back out Sunday, probably after breakfast at Jeny and Jerod's (which honestly, you're all welcome to stop by for. They would be genuinely thrilled to have you)

The better news is that sometime in mid-August we're shooting for a bunch of us to show up and spend 4 or 5 days turning shit upside down, going to Cubs games, eating at Hot Doug's, throwing hotel parties, trying to hook up with Ukranian babes, that sort of thing. Should be pretty sweet.
