This multiple email/same source nonsense seems to be coming from everywhere. I often wonder if the senders think they're being more effective by being "short and punchy". Instead it begins to feel like your little brother asking you the same question over and over.

Agreed.
I've pretty much stopped signing up for any news letters, email lists, or anything just for this reason. Either they send way too many emails, or they don't send any.
Bands for example, since it's easy. I am on lists for several bands. There are a few that for some reason will even send me the same email multiple times. They want to email you about everything. Shows, new releases, everything. It doesn't stop there though, they send you emails about other bands, about random causes they are championing, even stupid chain letters that have been FWD FWD FWD FWD to death. I have gone as far as to remove myself from several lists just for this reason.
Then there are the bands with email lists that may as well not even exist because they never utilize them. One for example had released an album and gone on tour. I would have loved to see them and meet them again, as I have in the past. Of course I neglected to try and keep up with any of the information because I figured they would send this out. So I found out months later that I had missed all of this.I would understand if the band wasn't very active, or something like that...but no.
Now, that's just an example of course. This doesn't just happen with bands unfortunately.

Sadly, we live in a world where people have jobs and god fucking help them if they're not going to do them. I use the word "job" very loosely mind you. In a world of 24hr everything, everyone has to fill the hours of the day with absolutely banal shit.
The product press release, the CNN story about the latest the latest against-all-odds anal baby delivery, the interviewer/writer for the magazine/blog s/he are not paid to write-- all jobs that any sober person can say "hay mang, maybe your job simply doesn't need doing."
P.S. Having made out with the entire cast of The Real World: Brooklyn, I don't see what the problem is with saying brooklyn a brooklyn times
