I was going to give True Blood a spin pretty quick. Are we claiming it's silly or just bad?

You'll see!
I can't bring myself to watch it for some reason! People seem to really, really enjoy it. And I finally got HBO.

Aren't we all a little Ellen DeGeneres in our own way?
I'd say. She's Lord of the Dance.

I have a friend who looks like Nurse Jackie. Never saw the show though.

Good grief, I don't watch anything. I need to have "a show."

--->leaving thread.

My show was The Wire, but it's over. Now I'm back to not really having one.

Someone posted this

http://www.darkmatter101.org/site/category/journal/issues/4-the-wire/

on Metafilter the other day, and it really, really made me want to rewatch The Wire.

Also, by "veer into Nip/Tuck territory" I mean

1) get overly obsessed with its own stylish nihilism.
2) lose any and all grounding in anything even approaching reality, or even the show's own internal reality.
3) just start being ridiculously over-the-top in every respect.

I still really want the box set. It's still $139.

I'm watching South Park.

This was fun for the first few episodes, but got old quick.

Meanwhile, I'm making my way through season 5 of The Shield. It gets progressively better and at the least, it's interesting to watch the variations in photography from season to season. Plus, Forest Whitaker is all Forest Whitaker.

God, yeah, his Shield season was incredible. Especially later in the season when you learned more about his character... shit got crazy.

Ack, I still haven't watched last week's either.  I usually watch it with the gf but she's out-of-town.  I'll catch up this weekend.

I'm watching an episode of South Park with a trailer for a Rob Schneider movie. The dialogue for the trailer is "Rob Schneider is a derp-a-derp-a-derp-diddly-derp-a-derp".
