Due to the impending end of my thesis work, the fact that my internet died and an ongoing bout of depression I've rewatched the first four seasons of the Wire.  What a beast of a show, man.  I got a lot out of it that I didn't notice the first go-round.

Last night's Breaking Bad was great & heartbreaking, but I'm still really hung up on last week's. It struck me just now how many funny moments that episode had; z.B. when Walt starts building the battery and Jesse asks what he's doing, Walt says "I'm building your idea" and Jesse says with genuine wonder, "A robot?"

Agreed.  Last week's episode was a blockbuster.  This week was more of a calm wind-up to further criminal behavior.

Los Angeles: CA (CNS) - The fans have spoken. Out of all the shows currently on the fence for the Fall 2009 season, they want 'Terminator" to be back. Save One Show, a poll conducted by E! each year, asks television fans what's their pick for the show in danger of cancellation which needs to be saved. After 300,000 votes, "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" led the pack with 53% of the vote.

The runner-up, NBC's "Chuck" was a far second with 25%. "Dollhouse" followed with 10%, while "Life" earned 8% and "Privileged" another 4%. Previous winners of the Save One Show poll include Angel, One Tree Hill, and Veronica Mars.

"I think I speak for everybody who works on the show when I say thank you to the fans for their tireless work to save our show," "Terminator" executive producer Josh Friedman told E!. "I think it really goes to show that there's a really hard-core, emotional, passionate fan base for Terminator that is larger and more widespread than people give us credit for."

Friedman also says he hasn't spoken to Fox in weeks and that they aren't giving him any signs as to whether the show will go or stay. "They said they're going to make all their decisions when they get the pilots in, and I don't think they have any of their pilots in yet," he says. "Things are just starting to come in from the other shows."

He also says Fox usually won't make a decision until the last day they have to make that decision, which is slated for May 18th. Fans of "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" will have to wait until then to know the fate of the show for certain.

The way they paced this last episode was really something.

Yeah, that was brilliant. I was sort of choking up at that point both because of the episode's emotional build-up and of my current wonky emotional state, and that "A robot" line made me laugh for five minutes straight.

Last night's episode, though not quite as great, had its share of subtle little moments of awesome, too - my favorite part was those few seconds when Skylar sees Walt briefly dropping by in the living room to munch on a pancake before returning to the basement, and she asks "Are you going to work today?" and he feverishly mutters "Skyler, there's rot" and just walks out the room.
