I'm apparently traveling by train to Niagara Falls next week, then from there to Watkins Glen even though Amtrak goes nowhere near WG and we have to improvise somehow, because my ex-from-long-ago with whom I'm traveling is militantly opposed to just renting a car (also dogmatically straight-edge, such that her girlfriend and I can't get drunk and play barroom trivia because the gf fears her moral disapprobation). Which I honestly find kind of endearing, even if a big fucking pain in the ass. I do like trains, though.

actually I shouldn't post about her, because we used to read LPTJ together before there were discussion forums, and once she realizes I'm part of the scene, as it were, with all the other LPTJers around, she might read some of this and direct her moral fury my way. or start posting here, which would be kind of awesome and hilarious.

(to be clear, this is something I genuinely like about her; my rare fond memories of our three-year relationship involve her saying things like "are you ever going to wash the fucking dishes, or just sit around watching your fucking movies all day long, fucker?" It was adorable, I'm not kidding)

There's a big street fair in my neighborhood today. If I get drunk, in addition to smelling the street sausage, I might buy the dumbest t-shirt I can find. Or a framed photograph of a small bird. I like pictures of sparrows and such where they're singing but it looks like they're just screaming as hard as a bird face can.

I've always suspected there's something afoot about the way they calculate this, because the local favorites here are invariably random, even nonsensical.

Also liking how specific my home page genre suggestion rows have gotten: "Violent Military Movies", "Suspenseful Crime Movies From the 1980s", "Satanic Stories", etc.
