God that POS song is awful.  He sounds like he's at a poetry slam.  And how can you hate on "Predator"?

I'm remembering your names so I can be sure to attach "but this is also that crazy guy that doesn't like the Hold Steady" to anything you write.

And yeah, that song blows hard. I don't know what happened. He sounds fine, but his lyrics are really off.

Since they only made like 500 copies of the "Milkcrate Mosh" single, even a lot of tHS superfans probably haven't heard this one:

The Hold Steady - Hey Hey What Can I Do

Stick it out to the end for the true terribleness.

Yep, that was complete shit!  Like an incompetent Black Crowes, and the Black Crowes are already shit.

The end bit reminded me of the 'ducks' quacking from Joe Walsh's 'Life's Been Good.'

Are you talking about Joe Walsh's Frampton-like overuse of the talkbox during his mid-70s solo period? If so, that's on a whole bunch of other songs of his from that era, not just "Life's Been Good."

the Black Crowes are already shit.

I take issue with this statement. I'll grant you that they had a pretty bad decade from about '96 - '06, but they kicked off their career with three killer albums and last year's Warpaint made my top 5.

You fags know that's a cover of a Led Zep b-side, right? No excuse, but...

Well yeah, we know that.  I don't know if you've noticed, but Craig Finn and Robert Plant have rather different vocal styles

That's my favorite Led Zeppelin song actually and I have not clicked that link 'cause I just can't stand the thought of CF gargling his way through it.

Man, what the hell does "he sounds fine" mean when it comes to Craig Finn?  His nasal warble is intact?  If he sounded off, would that mean he was singing a melody?

No.. the "here comes a flock of wanh-wanhs" part.

Dogg, I'm not trying to be a dick, but there is no wah-wah anywhere on "Life's Been Good." You're either talking about the talk-box, at about three minutes in, or the distorted slide guitar solo, at about five minutes in. But you're not talking about wah-wah, because that song doesn't contain any.
