me : horror movies :: danzig : doritos & this was a sam raimi movie so remember that even a shitty one I'm gonna love, but I was all about it & would recommend. lots of stupid shit especially toward the end but some classic evil dead 2/army of darkness-style frenzied horror of the type that tim burton used to take copious notes on, great camera work and sets, most of the cheese done with the exact right mixture of sincerity & stage-wink. like the medium/psychic who helps out - so utterly cheesy but great all the same. raimi not exactly, y'know, challenging himself, but he's in great form. BUT be advised both at my theater & at a friend's up in Philadelphia the volume was WAY too loud. I listen to death metal all the fucking time & play in a rock band with one of the hardest-hitting drummers around, so if I say a movie was too loud, I don't mean I'm old and cranky, I mean the shit was ridiculously interfere-with-your-enjoyment loud.

Seriously. It was like that when I saw Star Trek. And it wasn't even loud, but clear, either. Shit was distorted as hell. That plus $10 popcorn and 45 minutes of commercials pretty much put the last nail in the coffin as far as me attending corporate theaters goes.
