This is how good 'Spheres of Madness' is: every time somebody quotes the link, I feel the urge to watch the video again, even though I'm the guy who bloodiwell put the link up in the first place. One view turns to three or four.

I'm looking for good records with high pitched vocals. Like Carcass for instance. I enjoy some stuff Suffocation did, but that band suffers from (in my opinion) terrible low growling vocals.

What about Arsis, have you checked them out?  Their album A Celebration of Guilt is very good.  It's not grind oriented like Carcass, but the vocals are I think what you are looking for.  When I think of high vocals, I think of Battlemaster.  If you haven't heard Battlemaster, you fucking need to ASAP http://www.myspace.com/battlemaster
Andrew, you are from Richmond no?  If you are, then your immersed in some awesome local metal bands.

Yeah, I know the Battlemaster dudes. I've seen them several times. Andy's vocals are a bit ridiculous.

Three Inches of Blood dude's voice is pretty high, but I haven't listened to much after the 2nd album, so I can't speak to the quality of their recent output.

I actually really like his vocals for that band.  I don't think you could have a more fitting vocalist for the music--especially given the lyrical themes.  What are your thoughts on Cannabis Corpse?

I mean, honestly, I'm sure they're a lot of fun to go see, but what's the point of a cover band releasing records? I don't understand that at all. I mean, I guess they're the Weird Al of death metal, but that would only be true if Weird Al had never covered anyone besides Michael Jackson.

Wow Arsis really? I just missed them last weekend because I got late on the Behemoth gig (I was on bike), they were support. I'll check that out, and Battlemaster too. Thanks.

Arsis are also from Virginia by the way, and I agree that they rule.

BLASPHEMY!  Very Happy  I went into listening to them thinking they were just writing songs that were blatantly Cannibal Corpse rip-off songs with weed lyrics.  I thought I would chuckle a bit and then be done with it.  WRONG!  Tube of the Resinated is in some ways better than most Cannibal Corpse albums (please note the MOST part.)  It takes what Cannibal Corpse did on their first few records--that is, writing songs that have, for lack of a better term, hooks--and re-did them better.  The songs are catchier.  The breakdowns often more massive, AND they are embracing the playful nature of death metal; something which I feel is often lacking in the metal scene.  They know that they are essentially a "funny thing" and they aren't ashamed.  They pull it off pretty deadpan on record, but for Christ's Sake, the music is AWESOME (and not just a goofy rip-off.)

p.s. Have you listened to that record?  I think if you do, your opinion may change a bit.

OK, I'll check it out. My friend Eric has the record, I'll listen to it next time I'm at his house.
