Yeah, Andrew is right on there.  Projects, shows, and other distractions are the best.

I laid my tattered old longcoat to rest on the floor of the Brighton Centre after an Echo & The Bunnymen concert around the time of Porcupine. I'd bought it for £2 from the dead man's shop a couple of years earlier and it was very old, a bit smelly and when I put my hands in the pockets they just poked straight out of the lining. It seemed like a fitting last resting place.

Yes! Acoustic tour, and I think they played in France last year already. I don't know anything about them apart from what's on their wikipedia page, incidentally - do you have any recommendations for places to start exploring their discography?

i had a copy of _Millpond Years_ a long time ago but i think sold it.  it's so far back i can't even recall what they sounded like.  the packaging suggested gothy/moody stuff.

Holy shit, I just found out that Vulture Whale and The Dexateens are both playing a Skybucket Records showcase in Macon, GA (my hometown) on Friday night, at a newish venue I've never been to before. I think I'm going to have to make the trip back home for this one.

What's more, attempts to parody it lead to even more great band names: Osprey Shark, Barracuda Hawk, Jackal Leviathan, and so on.

Just bought Future of the Left tickets for the 30th in Brooklyn. I'm psyched and it gives me an excuse to go visit a friend who just moved there.

I might have a little trouble bumming his couch for the night, though....
