Those Darlins were quite a fine show round these parts.

I might go see local Michelle Blade's CD release show tomorrow (Friday) night, otherwise my next planned show is Mike Watt and the Missingmen on Thursday.

Oh, wait!  The Downtown Chamber Series has a concert on Sunday that I have a ticket for.  They are playing Bartok's 5th String Quartet and a Kodaly piece and a few other items.  I am very excited to be able to hear Bartok in person again!

What could make up for losing a tooth last night?

Fri: The Fruit Bats

Sat: Pewter Gandalfs, High On Fire, Rogue Wave, Kimya Dawson, Billy Bragg, etc.

Sun: Pewter Gandalfs

Mon (3/22): Wilco

I can live through this, I suppose...

Losing a tooth? You are much, much younger than I had expected.

I have two gigs this week. Speech Debelle (British rapper chick and Mercury Prize winner) tomorrow, and Joanna Newsom on Saturday.

Tickets = purchased.  I ain't never seen an Oscar-winner in person before, this'll be cool.  Plus, I've never been to Smith's Olde Bar.  Davy, you?

Not me, nope.

Man, you're on the ball, though. You think it'll sell out? I just dropped all kinds of cash on Pavement tickets and I'm not quite ready to buy another!

man I'm already going to one of the NYC Pavement shows, but the tickets for the Philly show go on sale tomorrow..
pros:
Pavement
Friday night
cons:
37.50 plus shitty charges
it's at a place that is less accessible to me via train, so there'd be driving (or a bus) involved, so i don't really care to go alone, and have no one to go with

in other news, Joanna Newsom on the 19th!

It's hard to tell--I mean, guy just got all kinds of exposure (was he actually at the Oscars?  I didn't watch em).  You can probably wait, but I wouldn't wait long.

Yeah man, he was there. Got up when they called his name, looking sharp as hell, took the stage and said some nice words...oh wait, google for the win:

Ok, so I just ordered a ticket but unfortunately the shipping address plugged into that site was E's house. No idea why. Grrr.

Oh man, that's happened to me, it sucks.

I called 'em this morning and they said there was still time to switch my ticket to will-call, but they wouldn't change the shipping address. So will-call it is, I guess, but that shit always makes me a little nervous.

Don't ever give any moneys to ticketmaster ever

there's gotta be some kinda box office at the venue where you can buy that shit, or have somebody you know who lives nearby buy it, or something.  FUCK ticketmaster

Very reluctantly agreed to go to the Black Lips show at Brooklyn Bowl tonight. Listened to about half the new record yesterday, and found it pretty fucking obnoxious.

Jim speaks truth.  I recently drove an hour each way to buy tickets in person, solely for the purpose of avoiding the at-this-point-completely-scandalous fees.   Given the relative fuel efficiency of my Accord, I'm pretty sure I even ended up paying less (or at least not more) for gas than the fees would have been.
