Great goal!
Just not as great as
this
He was my hero as a kid, now I wish he never wore a Celtic shirt.
And that MLS goal was legitmately amazing.
What, Paolo? Because he's a fascist, you mean?

Just read some articles about him. He indeed sounds pretty gross, and I usually don't have too difficult a time separating a dude's artistic or athletic abilities from his politics.

Well, I certainly can't defend any of that, but when it comes to football, he's given me more pleasure than anyone else I've ever seen play.

Anyone watching the women's World Cup at all? The England team are doing better than people expected, playing some very good football, and now 10 minutes away from the semi-finals.

Uh-oh, spoke too soon - the French have equalised and we're into extra time. England look deflated and knackered.

...aaaand out on penalties in the quarter finals...ah well, there's a certain reassuring familiarity to that now, and to be totally honest, the French were the better team overall today.

Been around a little while now, but this was something - look out for the coach, Dragan Stojković, who emerges in the bottom left-hand part of the picture after 4 seconds....

The SPL starts on Saturday, with Celtic's first game being away to Hibs on Sunday. It's been too long (even with this earlier than usual start to the season) weekends without football are a whole world of tedium.
edit: actually it's a week from Sunday

this is enough to get me pumped. WE ARE ALL NEIL LENNON.
Also,
this
is a video of the Celtic support, after hearing the news last season that Rangers had all but won the league.

While we're talking about remarkable goals, here's one Yossi Benayoun scored in a friendly yesterday which is of a kind you're not likely to have ever seen before.

Uruguay's goalkeeper, Muslera, had a heroic night against Argentina today. Uruguay was down to 10 men about 30 minutes into the game, and though both teams were knocking at the door, Uruguay would've certainly been eliminated if not for Muslera's fantastic goal keeping.

Arsenal player makes his debut and scores the most spectacular own goal of all time.

This SPL season started well for Celtic today, with Rangers scraping a 1-1 draw with Hearts at home. Celtic begin their season away to Edinburgh's other team, Hiberian tomorrow.
The huns frustration resulted in this rather amusing photograph.
