It's not his whiskey that wants pulling.

I know, it's totally glorious! Not a day higher than 83 expected here in the next ten. High of 75 on Thursday! Cool

This has been my desktop wallpaper for the past two weeks. I am ready.

I like that I no longer really have to manically optimize windows for maximum cool, as I've done all summer in my non-airconditioned home/office. I have my desk set in a bay window to enjoy the natural light during my work day, but all summer I've had the shades drawn during the days to keep cool. It's nice to able to let the light in again.

I suppose it was marginally less soul-crushing outside today.

I wore a hooded sweatshirt out two days in a row. (Took it off on the way back up the hill, though.)

The highs are only in the mid-90s now!  It's only 80 outside at 11 PM.

Hottest summer ever in NYC, but it's supposed to cool down this weekend, so that'll be nice.

I feel so disconnected from you guys, because it's actually been quite chilly here lately. For a shameful five minutes a few days ago, I even turned on the heating in the sitting room! My housemates, on the other hand, have started turning it on in the bathroom for longer periods, but I turn it off again whenever I catch it.

It was pretty cool here last week - I was quite liking it - but it zoomed right back up again this week. I think it's supposed to cool down again for the weekend, though.

I have moved or helped others move in and out of apartments 3 times this hottest NYC summer ever (though one was on the first floor and not really much work at all). My brother rolled in at around 9:30 PM and dragooned me into driving down to Manhattan with him and transferring the cargo of a fully loaded panel van up four flights of stairs to his new apartment. We counted the trips and figured that we climbed roughly 1100 feet vertically.

I felt like no matter how much water I drank at the top of every trip, I simply could not replace enough to account for all the sweat coming out of my body. It was disgusting, but in an extremely nuts kinda way.

BUT, I suppose it would have been much worse had it been in the daytime rather than the middle of the night... I might have felt like seriously giving up under the heat of the sun. Anywho, I just got home about 30 minutes ago and it is now time for a refreshing snooze.

Every time I'm ready to dance on summer's grave, the temperature shoots up for just a day or two. Like, Saturday the high was 72, yesterday 76, today: 90-fucking-3. Tomorrow? 78.

Fuck you summer, fuck you, fuck you, fuck you. Never wanna see you again. My three major goals for the next decade of my life are: 1) find a place where it never gets hotter than 80 degrees or colder than about 20F, 2) convince D to move there, 3) move there and never leave.

I love summer. This was the best one in years. I like fall too, though, so it's all good.

Yes, or Vancouver. It's a nice part of the world.
