Just got two tickets.
They can be yours for the low low cost of double what I paid for them

Yeah 40 bucks plus probably 40 bucks in ticketmaster fees? Fuck that noise. The only reason I'd buy the tickets is to flip them for 2 grand the week of.
Is this location the like Simon and Garfunkel concert in the park concert grounds?

9.85 fee per ticket
I've refused to buy tickets online for lower fees, but sometimes I gotta make sacrifices

That's what I thought I was going to do with two extra My Bloody Valentine tickets last time they came through. By the evening of the show I still couldn't get rid of them. I wound up selling one for ten bucks right before the show and totally eating the cost of the other.

I guess so, but I thought the MBV tour was the most anticipated thing since... whatever the last most anticipated thing was.
Are Pavement more popular than MBV? I would have thought they were about at the same level.

Yeah I think that's utterly wrong. I guarantee you most college age kids have heard of Pavement, not so much MBV.

So basically we're talking about $50 a ticket?
Eh, that feels pretty ok, to me. I mean, it's not going to be a typical Pavement show. I paid $40 to see Wilco in what basically amounted to an airplane hangar earlier this year.

Well, that is if you're quick enough to catch one before the people who are looking to sell them for four times that have grabbed them all.

yeah I hate flipping stuff and have never have and wouldn't actually do that. Last two times I had an extra ticket, I sold one to a walk up at a Gandalfs show for a few bucks less than face, and at a Weakerthans show I just gave it to the ticket counter person and asked if she'd give it away to the first person who was buying a single ticket.
(I've also been at the mercy of the kindness of strangers in strange cities and have gotten hookups beyond the call of duty in SF and NY who bought tix for me and gave them to me at face value and it's AWESOMELY NICE so I will never flip and will never pay a scalper)
The Ticketmaster fee is ridiculous. I paid just shy of 100% face value of the ticket in fees for a show at the Troubador. I think bands/management companies that use TM should just buck up and have a ticket price that includes all fees instead of that system which I'm sure is at the complaint of artists who think they look like gougers/greedy and are passing the buck. Which is kind of funny for any concert ticket that's not ten bucks in my most humble opinion.

They're already going for $100-230 on StubHub.

Eh, if they're doing a "world tour" in addition to the Central Park shows, I'll just hold my breath and wait for something closer. If not, I've seen them enough times in my life to be satisfied, and I can always shift my anticipation to the
Terror Twilight
reissue, which you gotta expect will be released while all of this is going on.
Of course, all of this is not to say that I'm not going to be violently jealous of those of you who get to go.

I will surely attend any other tour stops within distance. I bought two tickets and don't know who I'll get to go with me (could I possibly con my friend in CA to come back east?)

I only bought four tickets to that show because I figured somebody I know would want a pair, not as a way to make money.
I tried to go see Radiohead one time at a sold out show at Madison Square Garden. The only ticket I could find was a guy whose friend had just canceled. He wanted $600 for the ticket. He wasn't even a scalper, but a so-called "fan." That's fucking out of order!

What blows my mind is that you actually feel the need to brag about this.

so what are some definites for their reunion setlists? it'll be exciting to see a set drawing evenly from their entire catalog. a few of my picks, in no order:
shoot the singer (this seems likely)
at&t
trigger cut (also likely)
speak, see, remember
no tan lines
loretta's scars
best friend's arm
are there any notable songs that NEVER were played live? i hope they throw in some surprises.
