Wow, that was really pretty good. Would be excellent if I were hammered.

I'm waiting for my man, twenty six dollars in my hand, pack of Lexingtons, 125, feel sick and dirty more dead than alive.
Sounds like a pizza delivery to me.

In all seriousness, I'm very skeptical about research like this. Firstly, it's far from clear that physiological states can meaningfully be described solely as a set of behaviours. That leaves the physiological effects in the 'pleasure centre' as what marks this as an addiction/ But if this doesn't just collapse into a description of only behavirous, the definition of addictive physiology at work here is so thin and general that other things that would count are, on one level, adrenaline, and at another, being in a happy long-term relationship, amongst others. I think our description of 'addiction' has become nearly contentless, probably in an urge to catch soft drugs under the umbrella.

Given the number of times I've heard something is more addictive than heroin, I'm tempted to give heroin a try. Or maybe give it a SHOT. BWAHAHAHAHA

They gave me heroin in the hospital. It was fucking amazing, but I didn't even take a free pump (they load you up with a certain amount and then you have a pump you can hit whenever you like). Presumably you have to take as much heroin as a cheeseburger fiend eats at McDonalds before you get addicted.

Hey man,
I
voted for the chili that not only had a bunch of meat in it but also used Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout as an ingredient. Another vote of mine went to the dudes right next to them who also had an awesome tasty chili and my third vote went to the lady who served hers with pork rinds because that's the America I want to live in

No, but certainly some kind of gnarly opiate. One dose and delivering actually felt pretty good. I continued to feel good through to the next day. Do they still give people morphine? Maybe it was morphine. All opiates I've been given felt very much the same, just varying intensities. This was the most intense by far. There's a reason they charged me about $3k for it.

Yeah, they absolutely still give people morphine, and that's also how under the table assisted suicides tend to happen for people with terminal conditions (people are on morphine drips, and then there's a tacit agreement to just keep increasing the dose). Never heroin though, as there's no legal use of that, except maybe for research, as I know you can get approved to get cocaine that way, but if so, I assume only for animal use, and it's extremely regulated.

At my hospital, I regularly give morphine and its more potent friend dilaudid. Occasionally we'll give fentanyl. Then there's all the sweet oral meds, like oxycontin and percocet and vicodin. And this is all to kids. I'm a drug pusher.
