(to the tune of homer in the 'lisa on ice' episode)
just wanted to start a new thread since the old one's full, and to ask - what the hell is up with college football this year. seems like every week the pundits have a new program to champion, they get whooped up on the next week. crazy.

This has been steadily escalating for the last half decade at least. Every year, there are more upsets of powerhouses by random tiny programs. The hegemony of the same 2 dozen or so schools is steadily eroding. I think the BCS is what's doing that, but who knows. Either way, I like it.

Falcons' offense looking good. Defense, less so.
Brady looks a little rusty.

Many people do not know that over the offseason the NFL merged with the WWE

Oh man, did you guys hear about the USC tailback who dropped his weight bar on his neck yesterday? Crushed his throat and larynx and he's out for the season at least. Fuck. Can you even imagine?

Tragically bad. I mean, to drag out a cliche, it's Bad News Bears bad. Crompton is like 2-12 tonight against Auburn. He's hit a receiver in the ass, another in the ankles, and another right in the side of the helmet. He's been sacked and almost picked off a number of times. We're only halfway through the 2nd quarter. He is a terrible, terrible quarterback, and he is somehow starting for a major SEC football team. Jesus fuck.

Man, I saw Tennessee was a 2.5 point favorite for this game and had a feeling I should put some cash on Auburn, but didn't pull the trigger. Damn.

Yeah, whoever set that line was confusing homefield advantage with divine intervention.

I know he's got his share of haterz on this board, but I can't help it. I just LOVE watching Peyton Manning play football.
And I think I would love it even if I wasn't a die-hard Volunteers fan.

Having some real cognitive dissonance as I shift from rage at last night's competence from the Minnesota Vikings to hope that the Minnesota Twins can pull an upset and play the post-season tonight.
Go Twins!
