ah, i missed this because the board is still doing a weird refresh thing for me - i don't have much more relevant experience than anyone else who has offered advice here (other than having in the past successfully applied to, spoken at length with the former chief admissions person at, and eventually graduated from your number one choice of university - and indeed the same faculty therein - of course) but if you think another pair of eyes would help then just send me across the thing and i'll point and laugh at the bits that admissions people are most likely to point and laugh at. sounds like you're already pretty much on top of it, mind.

How old are you anyway, I imagined you only being a 2-3 years older than me.

Alistarr just helped me push my personal statement from a 8.5 to a 9.7, I think. So thanks to him for that.

ha, yeah i'm only 25 myself. i think... (i found it much easier to know how old i was before i left university - nowadays i basically have to do some adding up and month-checking each time anyone asks me).

It got hard to remember my age around 25. For the year I was 26 I thought I was 27 most of the time. (Interestingly I still think I'm 27).

Fwiw, unis around here look favourably on 'mature age students', I think. They like a bit of life experience and maturity, which is what you've been doing for the last 5 years, right?

For most of the year, I'd been billing myself as 28 until I actually thought about it and realized I won't be 28 for another month or so. I have no idea where I got all messed up but the fact that I'm not the only one makes me feel less insane. Interestingly enough, the pain in the ass at one of the markets that gives me the third degree every time I try to buy beer with my wacky ass out of state license couldn't do the math either and didn't question me when I told him I was 28.
